- In a small skillet, saute onion in oil until tender; cool. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, butter, 1 egg, sugar, salt and 1 cup flour. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in onion and enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch dough down. Let stand for 10 minutes. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide into 32 pieces. Shape each piece into an 8-in. rope. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes. , Beat cold water and remaining egg; brush over breadsticks. Sprinkle half with sesame seeds and half with poppy seeds. Bake at 350° for 16-22 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks.

EASY CHEESE AND ONION BREAD
I was searching for a quick bread recipe without all the time and work it takes to knead dough and then wait for it to rise. I searched Food Network.com and found a recipe for "Beer Bread". Although simple and fast to make, I did not like the taste of it. So I altered the ingredients and experimented a bit and after just two trys, I came up with this version. I was so pleased with it....I felt compelled to share it with others who like me, want a quick homemade bread that everyone will love! Make sure your oven is the required temperature. Let cool before slicing otherwise it will crumble and fall apart. When slicing, use a very sharp knife and saw gently while pressing down to get the best results. This bread is great with stews, chili, heartly soups, and open faced turkey or beef sandwiches. Very filling!

- Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
- Add milk, water, butter, cheese, and onions.
- Stir until mixed.
- Dough should be a bit moist but not watery. Should look very sticky and lumpy.
- Scoop into greased bread pan. (cooking spray works fine).
- Even out with a spoon so top is completely flat.

- Slice the French baguettes diagonally into 3/4 inch slices.

- Sauté onions and garlic until transparent. Add the ground beef and taco seasoning. Cook until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 425˚F (220˚C).
- On a floured surface, cut the pizza dough into 5 strips and place spoonfuls of the beef mixture into the middle of each strip, followed by the Mexican cheese blend.

- Tip the flour into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook. Add the salt to one side of the bowl and the yeast to the other. Add three quarters of the water and mix on low speed.
- Add the olives, manchego, onion and coriander and mix to evenly distribute. Tip the dough into the oiled container, cover and leave it for 1–2 hours at room temperature, until at least doubled in size.
- Meanwhile, make the tzatziki. Grate the cucumber into a sieve set over a bowl and sprinkle over the salt. Mix the salt into the cucumber, then leave the cucumber to drain for 10 minutes.
- Dust the work surface heavily with semolina. Carefully tip the dough onto the surface. It will be very loose and flowing, but don’t worry. Handle it gently to keep as much air in it as possible.
- Dust the top of the dough with semolina, then stretch it out gently to a rough rectangle. Starting at one long edge, cut the dough into about 18 strips.
- Bake the breadsticks for 15–20 minutes, until brown, then remove them from the oven and transfer them to wire racks to cool. Serve the breadsticks with the tzatziki for dipping.
