Cherry Angel Dessert Recipes

Steps:

• Cut or tear cake into 1/2-in. pieces to measure 8 cups. Place half the cake cubes in a 9-in. square dish. Set aside 1/3 cup of pie filling; spread remaining filling over cake. Top with remaining cake cubes. , Combine the pudding mix, milk and sour cream. Spoon over cake. Cover and chill. To serve, cut into squares and top with reserved cherries.

Steps:

• Bake Cake according to directions on box. Once cooled, tear cake into bite size pieces and put into a 9x13 pan. Prepare the pudding mix according to directions. Fold in the whipped cream and sugar. Pour over cake and chill in refrigerator until firm, then top with cherry pie filling. Return to refrigerator until well cooled. Once completely cold, cut into squares and eat! You can serve with whipped cream or cool whip on top if desired.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Make sure your 10 inch tube pan is clean and dry. Sift flour three times and set aside.
• In a large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually add sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Blend in vanilla and almond extract. Fold the flour into the whites until no streaks remain. Pour half of the batter into pan. Sprinkle with half of the cherries. Fill pan with remaining batter and top with remaining cherries.
• Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes. Invert pan and allow to hang until cake cools.

• Heat oven to 350°F. Make cake mix as directed on package for angel food (tube) pan -- except stir cocoa into cake mix (dry). Bake 37 to 47 minutes or until top is dark golden brown and cracks feel very dry and not sticky. Cool completely, about 2 hours, as directed on package.
• Mix cherries and cornstarch in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Cool completely.

• Mix the dry cake mix (do not follow box directions) and undrained can of pie filling by hand.
• Pour into ungreased pan or cupcake tins.
• Follow baking directions on the box.

• Line an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. dish with cake cubes. Cover with pie filling. , In a bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Carefully spread over pie filling; top with whipped topping. , Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving. Refrigerate leftovers.

• With your fingers, tear the cream cheese into small pieces (into the same bowl).

• Toss "gently", you don't want to break up the angel food cake too much but still tastes great if you do.

• Refrigerate until ready to eat.
• Servings are approximate.
• Original recipe called for 1 can of topping but I always use 2.

• 2. Spoon cherry pie filling over cake.
• 3. Top with reminding 4 cups angel food cake.
• 4. Combine pudding mix with milk and sour cream; beat until smooth.
• 5. Spoon pudding mix over cake.
• 6. Chill for at least 4 hours.
