Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place pretzels on baking sheets. Unwrap candy kisses and place one in the center of each pretzel.
  • Place in preheated oven 1 to 2 minutes, until kisses melt. Remove from oven and place one candy-coated chocolate in the center of each pretzel. Chill in refrigerator until set.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating to incorporate before adding the next.
  • Add the flour mixture a bit at a time while beating, until it forms a smooth dough.
  • Add the pretzels to a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed pretzels until evenly combined.
  • Press a caramel flat and place in the middle of a ball of dough, about 2 tablespoons.

Steps:

  • For the cookie: Position an oven rack in the lowest position in the oven and preheat to 375 degrees F. Thoroughly grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with butter (or use a stainless-steel skillet coated with nonstick vegetable oil spray).
  • Mix the brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment until no large lumps remain, about 1 minute.
  • Stir together the egg and vanilla in a large bowl. Fold in the banana and white chocolate. Combine the flour and baking soda in a separate large bowl until thoroughly combined. Add the egg mixture and butter mixture to the flour mixture and thoroughly combine. Fold in the pretzels until evenly distributed.
  • Scrape the batter into the prepared skillet and pat into an even layer with damp hands so the batter extends to the edges of the skillet.

  • Melt chocolate in double boiler over medium heat on stove top. Using tongs, or your fingers, quickly dip pretzels in chocolate allowing the excess to run off. Place dipped pretzels on waxed paper lined cookie sheets. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, colored sugars or other toppings. Allow to harden. You may need to refrigerate for a while to help this along. Once hardened, remove from sheets and store in a cool location, with waxed paper between layers.

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition. In another bowl, mix ground pretzels, flour and baking powder; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Divide dough in half. Shape each into a disk. Cover and refrigerate until firm enough to roll, about 1 hour., Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion of dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 3-1/2-in. tree-shaped cookie cutter. Using a floured 1-3/4-in. tree-shaped cookie cutter, cut out the centers of half of the cookies.   • In a double broiler set over simmering water, melt the semisweet chocolate with 2 teaspoons shortening, stirring gently constantly; remove from heat.
