CHOPSTICK TUNA

From a very old copy of "Better Homes & Gardens New Cookbook." This recipe is not in their new books. It's fast, cheap, and super easy to prepare!

Chopstick Tuna image

Steps:

  • Combine soup and ¼ cup water.
  • Add 1 cup of the chow mein noodles, dash pepper; and remaining ingredients.
  • Toss lightly; turn into 10x6x11 ½ baking dish.
  • Sprinkle remaining noodles atop.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Serves 4 or 5.

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups chow mein noodles (divided)
1 (6 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
1 cup celery, sliced
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 cup frozen peas (optional)
1/2 cup cashews, toasted (optional)

CHOPSTICK TUNA CASSEROLE

This is a family favorite, quick, nourishing and never any leftovers. I have also used Cr. of Celery soup with good results. Let it come to bubbling in the oven for the best flavors.!

Steps:

  • Drain Tuna.
  • Break into bite size pieces.
  • Drain mandarins and reserve 1/4 cup to combine with the soup.
  • Add tuna, celery, onions,,mandarins, cashews and 1/2 the noodles.
  • Put into greased 5 cup casserole.
  • Sprinkle remaining noodles over top.
  • Bake 375F for 20 minutes until heated through.
  • Garnish with mandarins if desired.
