COCA COLA SLOPPY JOES ON GARLIC TOAST
I really like sloppy joes and whenever I have a pot luck luncheon I make sloppy joes and take them in my crockpot. The garlic bread is just the added touch to make this a perfect sloppy joe. Steps:
- 1. Brown beef,onion and green pepper in a large skillet.
- 2. Drain any grease off the beef mixture.
- 3. Over low heat stir in the Coca Cola, flour, and catsup combining well.
- 4. Stir in the remaining ingredients in the order listed and mix well.
- 5. Cover and simmer for 20 - 30 minutes.
- 6. Take two slices of the garlic bread and put sloppy joe mixture between. If you like you can top it with Mozzerella or Cheddar cheese.

When we were kids, we always called these yip yips. I guess that is a Midwestern thing. I've been looking for a sloppy joe recipe that tasted like my mom's for years (she always just threw it together and I could never get the taste) and finally found it. Since we're Pepsi lovers, I substituted it for the Coca Cola.
