Colonel Sanders Honey Rum Sauce image

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, honey, salt, and hot water.
  • Mix well and add butter.
  • Place over heat and bring slowly to a roiling boil, then remove from heat and let cool.
  • Add rum or extract; store at room temperature.
  • Place a piece of pie on plate that heat won't harm.
  • Ladle 2 fluid ounces of the sauce over pie.
  • Place under broiler till sauce bubbles.
  • Serve hot.

1 lb light brown sugar
10 fluid ounces honey
4 fluid ounces hot water
1/2 lb unsalted butter or 1/2 lb margarine
4 fluid ounces rum or 2 1/2 fluid ounces rum extract
1 pinch salt

  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
  • Serve over salads or as a dressing for sandwiches.
  • Makes 1 pint.

2 tablespoons ketchup
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons prepared mustard

1 tablespoon vinegar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper
1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 garlic clove, crushed fine

  • In a blender, combine brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, water and Worcestershire sauce. Season with mustard, paprika, salt, pepper, and hot pepper sauce. Blend until smooth.

This is my personal recipe for delicious, puffy meat patties which can be served alone or with my Special Dressing on a bun as hamburgers. Double the recipe and you have a great base for meatloaf.

Colonel Sanders' Puffy Meat Patties image

Steps:

  • Beat egg yolks in a medium bowl until they are lemon colored.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce to the beaten yolks and mix.
  • To the egg yolks, add the beef, salt, baking powder, pepper, parsley, onion and garlic.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff.
  • Fold the beaten egg whites.
  • Blend gently.
  • Dip with large spoon into 1/8 inch of very hot shortening or oil.
  • Let cook about 2 minute on each side and serve.
  • To make meatloaf: Double the recipe (you can add bulk sausage for 1/2 of the meat mixture). Smooth mixture into a lightly greased meatloaf baking dish or bread pan. Bake at 350 F degrees for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and drain fat. Brush top with 1/4" ketchup or with my Barbecue Sauce. Return to oven and continue baking for 20 minutes and serve.
