Steps:

  • Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with enough water that there's 1 1/2 inches of water above the eggs. Heat on high until water begins to boil, then cover, turn the heat to low, and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and leave covered for 14 minutes, then rinse under cold water continuously for 1 minute.
  • Crack egg shells and carefully peel under cool running water. Gently dry with paper towels. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise, removing yolks to a medium bowl, and placing the whites on a serving platter. Mash the yolks into a fine crumble using a fork. Add mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  • Evenly disperse heaping teaspoons of the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Sprinkle with paprika and serve.

  • Wasabi deviled eggs. Deviled, indeed! Hot wasabi, rice wine vinegar and scallions keep these deviled eggs just as spicy as their ancient Roman ancestors.
  • Shrimp deviled eggs. Basil pesto and capers punch up these hors d’oeurves. With cocktail shrimp as a garnish, it’s two appetizers in one. Get the recipe.
  • Avocado deviled eggs. For a crunchy alternative, fry the avocado garnish with panko bread crumbs. Your guests will be thrilled to find these savory treats in their Easter basket.
  • Bacon jalapeno deviled eggs. There’s no arguing that bacon is egg’s significant other. By tossing in jalapeno as well, and your spread will have a southwestern flair.
  • Hummus deviled eggs. Two mildly delicate flavors combine for a protein-packed snack. The creamy texture is offset nicely with the crunch of a pita chip.
  • Buffet deviled eggs. Have picky guests? Try laying out several different condiment options so everyone can create their own. This way, food is a game, and it might entice some of the finicky little ones to try something new.
  • Deviled egg pasta salad. Deviled egg macaroni! If traditional deviled eggs are a little too intimidating, try this deconstructed version instead. Get the recipe.
  • Pickled Beet Deviled Eggs. Spiked with horseradish and pickles, these tangy deviled eggs will add a splash of spring color to your table with their pink hues.

  • Buffalo and blue cheese. Let's start off with a classic food combo—buffalo sauce and blue cheese! To make a dozen of these, mix together 1 tablespoon with the basic deviled eggs mix.
  • Ranch and bacon. Who doesn't love a good ranch and bacon combo? This deviled egg is like a cobb salad but without the salad. Mix in 1 tablespoon with the basic deviled eggs mix.
  • Dijon mustard and dill. A small twist on the usual classic! Adding mustard to deviled eggs is a common mixture, so let's take it up a notch by bringing some dijon to the mix.
  • Sriracha and lime. Who loves spicy? These deviled eggs are great to serve with some chips, salsa, and margaritas, of course! Add 1 tablespoon of Sriracha and the juice of 1 lime.
  • Goat cheese. Anyone else a huge goat cheese fan? Add in 2 ounces of goat cheese to the basic deviled eggs mix. You may want to pull out the electric mixer for this again because the cheese is firmer than the other sauces these recipes call for.
  • Salsa. Not that into spicy hot sauce? Grab a mild salsa instead for the same great taste! Mix 1 tablespoon of salsa into the basic deviled eggs mix. Once the egg whites are filled, spoon on a small bit of extra salsa.
  • Lemon and dill. Lemon and eggs may not seem like a pleasing combination, but trust us on this one, it is good. Mix in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the basic deviled egg mixture, and sprinkle dill on top.
  • Maple and bacon. Sweet deviled eggs may not sound appetizing, but after testing this in the office, there are many editors who will back this combination up.
  • Garlic and basil. Any garlic aioli fans out there? Add 1-2 teaspoons of garlic powder (depending on how garlicky you like it), as well as 1 teaspoon of dried basil leaves, into the basic deviled egg mixture.
  • Avocado. Pump up that satiating healthy fat in your deviled eggs by adding in 1/4 smashed avocado to the basic deviled egg mixture. Slice small shavings of avocado to add as decoration on top of these.

12 DEVILED EGG RECIPES THAT WILL GET THE PARTY STARTED

From camillestyles.com
  • Mayo-Free Deviled Eggs from Minimalist Baker. Why We Love It: If you love the idea of deviled eggs but can’t get on board with the hefty amount of mayo they usually require, here’s your solution.
  • Classic Deviled Eggs from Downshiftology. Why We Love It: I’m of the opinion that classics need to be celebrated—and this recipe agrees. While I love all the creative spins that can be made to deviled eggs, sometimes, you just need to go with what you know works.
  • Healthier Deviled Eggs from Live Eat Learn. Why We Love It: Deviled eggs, but with a modern twist. This lightened-up version swaps in Greek yogurt for mayonnaise for an extra boost of protein while adding a little taste of tang that I can always get on board with.
  • Pimento Cheese Deviled Eggs from Pizzazzerie. Why We Love It: This recipe is an ode to the classics. Pimento cheese is game-changing in all sorts of recipes (macaroni and cheese, biscuits, and your favorite sandwich will all benefit), but it really shines in these deviled eggs.
  • Spicy Deviled Eggs from Pinch and Swirl. Why We Love It: I often see deviled egg recipes opting for cayenne or any generic hot sauce to bring the heat. This take on the old favorite changes things up with sriracha.
  • Deviled Eggs from The Modern Proper. Why We Love It: These are a choose-your-own-adventure sort of deviled egg. Four ingredients (plus salt and pepper) create a basic deviled egg that perfectly welcomes any array of toppings and mix-ins.
  • Deviled Eggs with Brisket and Herbs. Why We Love It: These are the deviled eggs you didn’t know you needed in your life. On the list of things I’d happily eat all day, every day (soup, cake, creamy and comforting pasta, and a few salads in between) these rank first.
  • Loaded Deviled Eggs from The Cookie Rookie. Why We Love It: The ultimate combo of toppings makes for crowd-pleasing deviled eggs. And when the recipe takes inspiration from a classic baked potato (sour cream, bacon, cheese, and chives), you know you’re in for a treat.
  • Chipotle Deviled Eggs from The Perks of Being Us. Why We Love It: Fun fact I learned while rounding up these recipes: “Deviled” in the name has nothing to do with these beauties being devilishly delicious (though delicious, they are).
  • Bacon Deviled Eggs from Dinner at the Zoo. Why We Love It: When you’re going for rich flavor, I recommend going all in. There’s a reason bacon and eggs are a breakfast staple—the pairing is what hearty, first-meal-of-the-day dreams are made of.
