DIRT CAKE
Crushed chocolate cookies are the "dirt" in this no-bake dessert, while gummy worms on top add even more squeal-appeal. For the pudding layers, we folded in whipped sweetened cream cheese for flavor and loft. Be sure to assemble it in a glass dish so you can see the layers. The make-ahead cake is perfect for any potluck or BBQ-or a birthday bash.

Steps:
- Combine the pudding mix and milk in a large bowl and whisk constantly until thickened, about 5 minutes. Refrigerate until firm, about 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add the cookies to a food processor and process until fine crumbs form. Remove 4 cups and set aside. Drizzle the butter into the remaining crumbs and pulse until mixture starts to hold together when pinched between your fingers. Pour into a 2 1/2-quart glass bowl and pack with the bottom of a measuring cup to form an even layer. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Beat the cream cheese and confectioners' sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until no lumps remain, about 2 minutes. Beat the cream in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes. Fold the whipped cream into the cream-cheese mixture until well combined, then fold this mixture into the pudding until well combined.
- Pour half of the pudding mixture over the cookie crust and smooth with an offset spatula. Sprinkle with half of the reserved cookie crumbs, then top with the remaining pudding mixture and smooth with an offset spatula. Sprinkle with the remaining cookie crumbs, decorate with the gummy worms and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 3 hours and up to overnight. Serve cold.

Steps:
- Bake cake according to package directions for a 9x13 inch pan; cool on wire rack for 5 minutes. Make slits across the top of the cake, making sure not to go through to the bottom.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping, stirring until smooth and blended. Slowly pour the warm topping mixture over the top of the warm cake, letting it sink into the slits; then sprinkle the crushed chocolate toffee bars liberally across the entire cake while still warm. (Hint: I crush my candy bars into small chunks as opposed to crumbs - I like to have pieces I can chew on!)
- Let cake cool completely, then top with whipped topping. Decorate the top of the cake with some more chocolate toffee bar chunks and swirls of caramel topping. Refrigerate and serve right from the pan!

This is a great conversation piece at parties. Adults love it as much as the children do. Get a new garden trowel, medium sized flower pot and artificial flower at a craft store for full effect.

DIRT CAKE
Love chocolate? Me too... I had heard of "dirt cake" but could not find a recipe or a person who had a recipe so I created my own, and my son insists on it at every family gathering now.

Steps:
- Bake the cake according to its directions. Let it completely cool. I try baking it the day before to make sure its good and cool.
- For this part take off your rings. In a large bowl crumble the cake until it looks like "dirt". Feel through the pile to make sure you've not left any large clumps of cake.
- Next add your chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, pieces, and minis. by hand mix it all into the cake really well.
- Then add the gummy worms and stir them inches.
- Next gently fold in the cool whip. It's okay to have white spots.
- Last drizzle the chocolate syrup over the top. Use the whole cup as it will soak into the cake.
- If your not serving it immediately you will want to refrigerate it. And if its hot out you'll want to keep it somewhere cool and out of the sun.
- It is really rich so you won't want large scoops.

DIRT CAKE III
This is a joke, a bit of whimsy to lighten up your next party. The cake is really a quick mix dessert made with Oreo cookies and soft squishy stuff. The trick is to capture everyone's attention with an announcement of some sort, and as you are speaking, trowel out some of the dirt from the flower pot around the flowers and eat it. May be followed by a worm dug out of the "dirt".

- You may substitute vanilla pudding for the chocolate if you want, and use up to 20 oz of Oreos.

- Crush the cookies until they resemble potting soil.
- Set aside.
- Cream the butter or margarine, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
- Set aside.
- Combine the pudding mix and milk until well blended.

- Refrigerate 10-12 hours before serving.
- Remove from refrigerator, decorate with flowers.
