Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Rub the roast with the rub and put fat side down in a covered baking dish in the oven. In another baking dish put the beans, molasses, onion, garlic and sugar together and place in oven. NOTE: I didn't combine the first 1 1/2 hours so the grease wouldn't be in the beans.
- After an hour and a half remove the pork roast and place fat side up into the beans dish and continue baking for another 1 1/2 hours decreasing the heat to 300 degrees.
- I served with mashed cauliflower and deviled eggs https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/side/side-vegetable/mashed-cauliflower.html
PORK 'N' BEAN SALAD
THIS RECIPE from my aunt was an immediate hit. I had pork and beans and mayonnaise in the pantry and all the vegetables in my garden. It's wonderful for a picnic or barbecue because it travels well in a cooler and is so colorful. -LaVerne Stetler, Escalon, California

I like to get this dish started before leaving for work in the morning. When I get home, my supper's ready! It's a hearty slow cooker meal that is also good for a potluck.
