I'm reluctant to add ice cubes to my blender, and if the smoothie is not all being drunk at the time you make it, I'd advise against the ice blocks, because naturally they'll just make what's drunk later more watery! Add any other fruit, as takes your fancy!

These cool treats are great on a hot day! Play around with the ingredients a little -- you can use almond butter, cashew butter, cashews, granola, or whatever sounds good!

- Insert 1 ice pop stick into the cut end of each banana half. Place the bananas on a wax paper-covered baking sheet, and freeze until the bananas are frozen through, about 2 hours.
- Remove the frozen bananas from the freezer and spread a layer of peanut butter on each banana. Place the peanut butter-covered bananas back in the freezer for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler over just-barely simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching.
- Dip each frozen banana in the melted chocolate, spooning the chocolate over the banana to cover it completely. Roll the dipped bananas in the chopped peanuts and place on the wax paper covered baking sheet; freeze until the chocolate is firm, about 1 to 2 hours.

- Freeze Bananas. First peel the bananas. Some lazy people freeze their bananas with the skins on. Like many lazy acts, it results in much greater work for a worse result.
- Cut Bananas Into Chunks. Pry bananas one by one from the block of frozen banans. It's easier than you'd expect. Cut them into chunks about as long as they are wide.
- Put in Blender. Use about this many. Then someone came into the kitchen so I added a few more chunks for them.
- Add Milk. Add enough milk to come up to the top level of the banana chunks. This is the right amount for them to blend to the proper consistency.
- Blend. Hit your favorite buttons on the blender until it looks like the second picture. Make sure the bottom is actually screwed onto the pitcher so it doesn't get flung around the room and make a huge mess, feeding a pest problem, leading to a plague that ends civilization.
- Drink It and Make Another. Here it is garnished with cinnamon for photo purposes. Actually you shouldn't add anything to your first one, so you can be overwhelmed by the myriad flavor nuances of the basic concoction.
- Go Nuts With Variations. Okay, now that you've mastered the basic piece, you can start to improvise. Here's a black-and-tan with a half-batch mixed with cocoa and coffee over the basic, sprinkled with sesame seeds.
