SLOW COOKER HONEY-GARLIC PORK LOIN ROAST

Slow Cooker Honey-Garlic Pork Loin Roast image

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season pork with salt and pepper. Place pork in the hot skillet and sear until brown on all sides, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer pork to a 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Add garlic cloves to the skillet. Cook, stirring often, over medium-high heat until brown, about 5 minutes. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Sprinkle flour over garlic and onion and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.
  • Pour chicken broth into the pan and bring to a boil while scraping the browned bits of food off the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Stir in lemon juice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil. Pour broth mixture and honey over the pork in the slow cooker.
  • Close the lid and cook on High for 3 hours or on Low for 6 hours, until pork is fork-tender. Transfer pork to a platter and let rest for 5 minutes. Pour cooking liquid into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until thick, 2 to 3 minutes. Lightly mash the garlic cloves. Slice the pork, and serve with the mashed garlic cloves and sauce.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt the butter and oil in a large, oven safe pan with a lid.
  • Season the pork by rubbing it with the lemon pepper and half of the garlic and then rolling it in flour.
  • Brown the pork on all sides over medium heat; this should take roughly 10 minutes. Remove the pork to a plate.
  • Add the onions and mushrooms to the pan and brown for 5 minutes, then add tomatoes and stir to coat everything. Add the remaining garlic and the chicken stock. Stir well and then place the pork on top.
  • Cover the pan and return to the oven for 45 - 60 minutes until the pork is done.
  • Remove the pork from the pan, and add the cream to lightly thicken the sauce.
  • Let the pork rest for approx 7 minutes, then slice and serve atop rice or noodles and pour some sauce over the top of the pork.

Steps:

  • Fire up the grill!
  • We have gas so I heat it up on High for about 10 min.
  • Then turn to low.
  • If useing Charcoal sear then cook over indirect heat.
  • I use a paring knife to cut slits into the meat on the fatty side.
  • Approximately 18 holes (kinda like golf huh).
  • Insert at least 1 slice of garlic per hole, I try to get it into the middle of the loin.
  • Rub loin on all sides with Creole Seasoning.
  • Grill approx 15 minutes, roll it over and baste with beer.
  • Continue grilling, approx every 15 minutes roll 1/4 turn and baste with beer.
  • Usually takes about 45- 60 minutes (depends on grilling heat) Check with meat thermometer,@160 degrees F remove from heat, cover and let rest for 10-15 minutes.
