Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring the garlic and oil to a boil, then turn the heat to low, and cook for 5 minutes, until the garlic is lightly browned. Turn off the heat and set aside. The garlic will continue to cook.
  • Remove the garlic cloves from the oil and slice them. Place them in a bowl and pour the oil over them.

6 garlic cloves, peeled
1 cup extra-virgin olive oil

I saw some concerns regarding garlic oil. For those,who are worried about using it,this is a great sub! Use more or less garlic powder,according to your taste.

  • Pour the ingreadients in a bottle and keep in a dark place.
  • Shake the bottle daily.
  • Ready to use after two weeks.

Steps:

  • Crush garlic cloves with the back of a knife on a flat surface; remove peel. Pour olive oil in a jar and add garlic cloves. Cover and refrigerate until flavors blend, 2 to 5 days.

A good way to use up those cloves of garlic. I had to add a teaspoon of salt as an ingredient because I could not post a one ingredient recipe, but you really don't need it, unless you want to make garlic salt!

Homemade Garlic Powder image

Steps:

  • Peel garlic, separate into cloves and cut them into thin slices.
  • Place sliced garlic on dry sheet pan and into an oven pre-set at 150*.
  • Turn slices often so they dry out evenly.
  • After several hours or when they are nice & hard remove from oven & allow to cool.
  • Grind the dried slices in a blender until you have a fine powder.
  • Pour garlic powder into a container with an airtight lid & store in the freezer.

4 garlic heads
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
