This recipe is from a cookbook made up of favorite recipes from a farming community in Saskatchewan. It is very much like the cookies you get at "Cookies by George". You could easily add nuts, raisins, etc. for different varieties.

Steps:
- Cream sugars and margarine.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Roll into golf ball size and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten cookies with fork or bottom of glass.
- Bake at 375 deg. F for 8 - 10 minutes. Do not over bake.

- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in fruits and nuts. , Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks.
