STROGANOFF

Here's a simple way to prepare a Stroganoff. Just a few ingredients combined with beef and you have a whole meal in about thirty minutes.

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the meat and onions for 10 minutes, or until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Stir in the flour, salt and paprika. Then add the mushroom soup, mix well and cook, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and add the sour cream, stirring well and allowing to heat through. Cover and set this mixture aside.
  • Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain the water from the noodles and pour the meat mixture over the noodles.

My mom made this beef stroganoff weekly when I was younger. I don't have the same metabolism I did then, but it's still the best $%#&* beef stroganoff I have ever had. I just want to thank everyone for all the wonderful reviews and ideas, I too now add a splash of Worcestershire sauce! Thanks again!

Steps:

  • Sauté onion and garlic in butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in ground beef and brown stir in flour, salt, mushrooms, and pepper cook 5 minutes, then stir in soup. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes.
  • Stir in sour cream until heated. Serve over noodles.

Steps:

  • In a large non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon (15 mL) of the oil over medium heat. Add onion; cook for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft. Add garlic and mushrooms; cook for 2 minutes, stirring often.
  • Stir in the Beef Veggie Tenders; cook for 1 minute. Remove everything to a large plate.
  • Add remaining 2 tablespoons (25 mL) oil to the skillet. Stir in flour; cook for about 2 minutes, stirring, until lightly browned.
  • Stir in broth, Dijon, thyme and seasoning salt. Cook for 2 minutes, until thickened. Return mixture to skillet. Cover and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in yogurt; warm through. Sprinkle top with parsley. Serve over hot cooked noodles.
