Grandma's Hamburger Casserole image

Steps:

Brown hamburger and onion in a large skillet. Add salt and pepper. Add beans and cottage cheese. Mix well and put in a greased casserole dish. Cover top with crackers and pats of butter. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until top is brown.

Ingredients

1 lb hamburger
1 medium onion, chopped
salt and pepper, to taste
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can green beans, drained
1 (16 ounce) carton cottage cheese

This is my go to recipe when I don't want to cook. I learned it from my Grandmother who used it in similar situations!

Grandma's Hamburger Helper image

Steps:

Saute onion and celery in water or chicken stock, set aside.
Brown the ground beef, drain.
Add onion and celery back in.
Add can of diced tomatoes, a can of water and the pasta.
Bring to boil, simmer uuntil pasta is soft and water is gone.
Mix in onion soup mix.
Mix in cheddar cheese.
Serve.
