HAM BALLS
This is my newest, favorite meatball recipe. If you like a sweet twist, you'll like this one. The meatballs will be slightly pink inside when done because of the pork, so do not overbake them!

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350^. Spray or grease 2 jelly roll pans. Set aside. Mix together meats, bread crumbs, milk, spices, sugar, whiskey and egg, until well mixed. Shape into the size balls you like, from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch..depends on how you want to use them. I like the smaller size for appetizers.
- 2. Place meatballs on a greased or sprayed jelly roll or sheet pan with sides; do not crowd. Bake for 30 minutes (remove accumulated grease with a kitchen baster) and then spoon a little glaze over each meatball; and bake for 30 more minutes or less depending on size of meatballs; be sure to baste meatballs often adding more glaze as needed.
- 3. Place fisished meatball in a serving bowl and pour any remaing glaze over them. Have plenty of round wooden toothpicks on hand.
- 4. GLAZE: Combine water and cornstarch, stir to blend. Combine all remaining ingredients and bring to a boil; stir in cornstarch mixture; cook and stir 1 minute or until glaze has thickened .

CRUNCH SWISS AND HAM APPETIZERS
We farm 2,000 acres and raise a few thousand chicken, so I'm often too busy to cook much in the summer. These appetizers are quick and easy, though, and perfect for hot days when you want to eat light. During the winter, when we have more time to entertain, they're also a great hit with guests.More Winning Bread Recipes »

- BBQ Sauce-Glazed Pineapple Ham Picks. I love food that looks interesting and tastes great, and intentionally or not, these BBQ-glazed pineapple ham picks look like tiny houses with skinny chimneys.
- Ham and Cream Cheese Roll-ups. If possible, these three-ingredient appetizers are even simpler to make than the pineapple ham picks! Cover your ham with cream cheese; then, roll up the ham slice with a pickle spear in the middle.
- Ham and Cheese Sliders. Ask any 8-year-old you know, and they’ll tell you that there’s nothing better on a long, cold day than a hot ham and cheese sandwich.
- Pear Prosciutto Appetizer. If you think pairing prosciutto, bleu cheese, honey, fresh red chilis, basil, and black pepper with pears seems like an odd combination, you’re not alone.
- Ham and Cheddar Cheese Ball. If you love cheese balls as much as I do, then you probably won’t even need a description of this one to know you’ll enjoy it.

- Place ground ham and pork along with cracker crumbs, egg and crushed pineapple into a bowl and combine. Use a 1/3 cup measuring cup to scoop the meat mixture to form even sized balls. (This size is better when served as a meal, scoop them a bit smaller, using a large cookie scoop to make them appetizer sized.)
- Place the meatballs in a shallow baking dish (9x13) in a single layer. Bake for uncovered 30 minutes.
