KRAFT'S VELVEETA ITALIAN SAUSAGE BAKE

Kraft's Velveeta Italian Sausage Bake image

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • 2. Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt. Meanwhile, brown sausage in large deep skillet on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to break up sausage. Drain; return sausage to skillet. Stir in zucchini, peppers and pizza sauce; cook 5-6 minutes or until peppers are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
  • 3. Drain pasta. Add to sausage mixture with velveeta; mix lightly. Spoon into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with parmesan.
  • 4. Bake 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
  • 5. Healthy Living: Trim 40 calories and 9g of fat per serving by preparing with extra-lean ground beef and 25 milk velveeta.

1 1/2 c penne pasta, uncooked
1 lb italian sausage
3 c halved zucchini slices
1 red pepper, chopped
8 oz pizza sauce
8 oz velveeta, cut into 1/2-inch cubes (1/2 lb)
1/2 c grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Crumble sausage into large skillet. Add vegetables; cook on medium heat 6 to 8 min. or until sausage is done, stirring occasionally. Drain; return sausage mixture to skillet.
  • Add salsa and half the VELVEETA to sausage mixture; mix well. Spread onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Whisk eggs and sour cream until blended; pour over sausage mixture. Top with remaining VELVEETA.
  • Bake 40 min. or until center is set.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Cook spaghetti as directed on package, omitting salt. Meanwhile, remove and discard casings from sausage if necessary. Crumble sausage into medium skillet; cook on medium heat until done, stirring frequently. Drain sausage; return to skillet. Stir in pasta sauce; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Drain spaghetti; place in large bowl. Add egg, Parmesan and 1 cup mozzarella; toss to coat. Spoon into 8-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with sausage mixture and remaining mozzarella.
  • Bake 15 min. or until heated through. Let stand 5 min. before cutting to serve.
