LONG BOY CHEESEBURGER

Like a meatloaf sandwich

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients from ground beef to the evaporated milk together. Spread the mixture on the bottom of sub buns.
  • 2. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Take the top of the bun and place on baking sheet to brown. Top the long boys with two slices of cheese each.
  • 3. Bake 5 more minutes until cheese is melted. Top them with your favorite condiments and serve

4 7 in sub buns
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion chopped
4 clove garlic minced
salt and pepper
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 c ketchup
1/2 c corn flakes processed to a crumb
1/2 c evaporated milk
8 slice white cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Combine last 8 ingredients - set aside.
  • Toast bread in 450 degree oven cut side up on broiler pan until golden and crisp approximately 5 minutes.
  • Top toasted bread evenly with meat mixture - brush with ketchup.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, test for doneness. Top with cheese slices, put in oven until cheese melts approximately 3 minutes.

Steps:

  • Adjust the oven rack to upper-middle position and heat oven to 450°F. Bake rolls, cut side up, on wire rack inside rimmed baking sheet until golden and crisp, about 5 minutes. Combine cornflakes, onion, milk, 4 tablespoons ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, garlic powder, egg, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper in large bowl. Add meat and knead gently until well combined. Top toasted rolls evenly with meat mixture, spreading meat to edges of rolls. Brush top of meat mixture evenly with remaining ketchup and bake until meat registers 160°F, 20 to 25 minutes. Top burgers with cheese and continue to bake until cheese melts, 3 to 4 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes. Serve.
