The Maple Perfect Manhattan image

Steps:

  • Add the rye, vermouth, maple syrup and bitters into cocktail shaker. Shake it up, pour over good ice in a large and manly rocks glass. Add skewered cherries and drink.

2 ounces rye (Knob Creek Rye is good)
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
2 dashes bitters
Ice
Pickled cherries

Steps:

  • For the chipotle chile-sugar rim: Combine the sugar and chipotle powder; mix well and spread on a small plate. Moisten half the rim of a 10-ounce rocks glass with the lime wedge and press into the chipotle sugar to rim half of the edge. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  • For the drink: Fill a mixing glass 2/3 of the way with ice then add the mezquila, agave nectar, lime juice, BBQ sauce and bitters. Cap the mixing glass with the shaker tin and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Strain the drink into the rimmed glass and serve.

1 ounce bourbon brown sugar BBQ sauce, sauce as Guy Fieri's

Bourbon-Maple-Pecan Sundae image

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat until it foams. Add the pecans and toss to coat evenly; toast for about 1 minute. Add the brown sugar and swirl until it melts; toss to coat the nuts. Add the bourbon and maple syrup and remove from the heat. Swirl the sauce to mix, and then allow to cool slightly in the pan. Pour the sauce over scoops of ice cream to serve as a sundae. Season with a little pinch of salt. Serve immediately.

4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons bourbon
2 tablespoons maple syrup
8 scoops vanilla bean ice cream, for serving
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
