MAPLE-BACON CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
This recipe was born out of a challenge to include bacon in a cookie batter. While that has been done before, the inclusion of chocolate chips and maple together in a whipped batter make this a sweet-yet-savory chewy cookie treat!

These cookies are absolutely the best!! They really should be named disappearing cookies because they won't stay around long. Set your timer, these cookies are best when they are lightly browned.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar and maple syrup until well combined - the mixture will have the consistency of wet sand. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until smooth.
- Add the flour, baking soda and salt (stir them together first only if you want to) to the butter-sugar mixture and stir by hand until almost combined; add chocolate and stir just until blended. It may seem dry at this point - I always find it easiest to get in there with my hands toward the end.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough (or roll rough walnut-sized balls) about 2" apart on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Flatten each a little with your hand, just to give them a head start. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until pale golden and set around the edges but still soft in the middle. CHOCOLATE CHIP MAPLE-PECAN COOKIES
These cookies are outrageously wonderful, they bake out to the perfect texture!!! You can sub walnuts for pecans, melted cooled butter for these, not softened butter! You can shape the cookie batter and then freeze to be baked at a later time.

BACON & CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES WITH MAPLE CINNAMON GLAZE
Yes, really. After recently having a bacon chocolate bar (made by the skilled hands of those at Vosgues Haute Chocolat) and loving it, I was inspired to make the same thing in cookie form. It's the prefect combination of savory and sweet. Adults can't get enough of them. Try them and I promise you'll be making a second batch! Thank you Dallas Morning News! Preparation time, below, includes 1 hour of chilling the dough.
