Microwave Snack Mix image

Steps:

In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, chili powder, cumin and garlic powder. Cover and microwave on high for 30-45 seconds or until butter is melted. In a 3-qt. microwave-safe dish, combine crackers, pretzels and peanuts. Add butter mixture and mix lightly. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese; toss to coat. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 4-5 minutes or until mixture begins to toast, carefully stirring every 2 minutes. Cool. Store in an airtight container.

Caramel Crispix in Microwave image

Steps:

1. Place the cereal and nuts in a 'double' grocery bag. Shake to mix. Set aside.
2. Combine first 4 ingredients in large microwavable bowl. Microwave on high for 2-1/2 minutes. Stir. Cook 2-1/2 minutes more. Add soda and vanilla. Stir well.
3. Pour the caramel mixture (while hot) into the grocery bag with cereal. Shake well then place in microwave on high for 1-1/2 minutes. Shake again. MIcrowave 1-1/2 minutes more. Shake and pour onto jelly roll plan to cool and break up.

11/4 c mixed nuts
1/4 tsp soda
1/4 tsp vanilla

I am addicted to this stuff! It's so much quicker to make in the microwave. And the kitchen doesn't get heated up if you're making it in the summer. I use store brand corn, rice and wheat squares instead of the Chex brand. Just as good, and a lot less expensive.

Steps:

Put cereals, crackers and peanuts in large bowl.
Mix first 5 ingredients together; pour over cereal combination, mixing well to coat.
Microwave on High for 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
Drain on paper towels that have been put on top of newspaper.

Steps:

Mix margarine, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoned salt together in a large bowl until well combined. Add cereal squares, cashews, and pretzels; mix well.
Microwave on High for 2 minutes. Mix well, then microwave for 2 more minutes. Mix again, and microwave for 1 more minute.
Remove from the microwave and spread party mix on paper towels to cool before serving.

Years ago, one of those clever preschool mom's, brought this as a snack. I couldn't stay out of the little package that my twins brought home. I think the key is adding butterscotch chips and mini m&m's. I like doing this in the microwave, as opposed to those recipes where you have to bake and stir, bake and stir!

Brenda's Sweet Snack Mix (microwave) image

Steps:

Mix margarine, brown sugar, white syrup and 1/8 teaspoons salt together in a microwavable bowl.
Microwave on high for 2 minutes.
Stir well.
Microwave on high for another 2 minutes.
Add 1 teaspoons vanilla and 1 teaspoons baking soda.
Stir until clear.
Pour crispix into brown paper bag.
Pour syrup mixture over all.
Stir well and shake brown bag.
Microwave 1 1/2 minutes.
Shake well again.
Microwave another 1 1/2 minutes Shake again.
Add peanuts and pretzels.
Shake again.
Spread onto large sheet of wax paper or large cookie sheet.
Cool well.
Add m&m's and butter scotch chips.
Mix together.
See the bowl empty before your eyes!
