A VERY POPULAR BBQ SAUCE
This recipe has a lot of sweetness and spice, so if you're looking for a classic BBQ sauce that's easy to make, look no further. It is very popular with users of 'ceramic' type smokers and grills, (i.e. Primo, Kamado, Big Green Egg, etc.)

MOM'S BARBEQUE SAUCE
This is the first recipe I ever got from my mother-in-law. It's the best BBQ sauce I've made to use in hamburger BBQ. It's also great for grilling to brush on chicken or pork. It's the perfect blend of sweet and tangy.

MOM'S VENISON BARBEQUE SAUCE
We grew up on venison, and this is one of my Mom's great barbeque sauces to make with it.

Steps:
- Preheat an oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir the onion in the melted butter until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir the ketchup, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and yellow mustard into the onion and butter; allow mixture to warm completely.
- Heat a separate skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steaks with salt and black pepper; cook in the skillet until browned on each side, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer the steaks to a 9x13-inch baking dish. Pour the sauce from the skillet over the steaks.
- Bake in the preheated oven until meat is cooked through and no longer pink in the middle, about 1 hour.
- Transfer the steaks from the baking dish to a platter, shaking any excess sauce from the meat. Stir the cornstarch and water together until smooth in a small bowl, then mix into the hot sauce remaining in the baking dish until the mixture begins to thicken; pour over the steaks to serve.

MOM'S BBQ SAUCE (FOR GRILLED RIBS)
I thought I had lost this! I loved the smell of this cooking on the stove. It brings back memories of my parents and their friends making this when we spent summers in Long Beach Island, NJ. You can adjust for the amount of sauce you need. I just adjusted to make 2-3 cups for 2 packages of ribs (about 4-5 lbs.) and I used Splenda brown sugar for my husband.

- In a medium saucepan, stir together all of the ingredients: tomato sauce, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, molasses, Worcestershire, smoked paprika, dry mustard, garlic, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Cover with a lid slightly ajar so that the pot is mostly covered to deter splattering, but steam can still escape and the sauce can reduce. Let cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens, about 10 to 15 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired. Enjoy immediately or let cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
