WAFFLE MONTE CRISTOS
Waffles packed with turkey, ham, bacon and apricot preserves have so much sweet, smoky love going on. I use frozen waffles to save time, but have at it if you want to put your waffle iron to good use. -Kelly Reynolds, Urbana, Illinois

- Preheat griddle over medium heat. Spread preserves over four waffles. Layer with turkey, ham, cheese and bacon; top with remaining waffles. Lightly spread outsides of waffles with butter., Place on griddle; cook 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through. Serve with syrup for dipping.

I saw this recipe on the Rachael Ray Show and thought it was so great and wanted to add it to my other waffle sandwiches and pancakes. I tweaked it a little. Great Recipe- my family loved it- we had a side salad with it like she suggested. ENJOY! NOTE: Just think of all the othesandwichhe combinations to put into the waffle...

- 1. Preheat your waffle iron to medium heat. In a shallow bowl, whisk together, eggs,cream, mustard,salt, pepper, cinnamon and sugar.
- 2. Brush waffle maker with melted butter. Build sandwiches; One slice of bread, some cheese, a slice of ham, a slice of turkey, more cheese and another piece of bread. Turn sandwiches in batter and place in waffle iron. Close waffle iron and cook 5 minutes or until golden brown. Serve sandwiches sprinkle with powdered sugar and with melted marmalade or raspberry jelly for dipping.
- 3. Note: For a nice treat try making your children's sandwiches in the waffle maker- peanut butter and jelly is great or use the above batter and dip in a chocolate chip and marshmallow sandwich . (leave out the mustard and salt and pepper) yummmmm!

- In a shallow bowl, combine the egg, milk, sugar and orange zest. Dip bread into egg mixture. Place on a preheated waffle maker; sprinkle each slice of bread with pecans. Bake according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown., Place an American cheese slice on two bread slices; layer with turkey, Swiss cheese, ham and remaining American cheese. Top with remaining bread; butter outsides of sandwiches., Toast sandwiches in a skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side or until cheese is melted. Dust with confectioners' sugar; serve with jam.
