BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES
To help interest my kids in cooking, I started with this recipe from my childhood. My mom made these oatmeal banana cookies when I was young. Now my children like them as much as I did, and we quadruple the recipe to serve our large family. You can't eat just one of these goodies packed with chocolate morsels. -Jaqueline Wilson, Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin

MY NANA'S LACE COOKIES
These are delicate lace cookies with an amazing taste! A tradition in our family for Christmas since I was a little girl. These cookies spread to make a very thin wafer, almost transparent. Super easy to make, but be careful, as they can be quick to burn or cool too much on your cookie sheet - and then you'll be chipping the cookies off of your cookie sheet! I hope you enjoy these as much as my family does. Store in an airtight container until serving.

THE BEST OATMEAL COOKIES
Chewy oatmeal raisin cookies with lots of flavor. You can also substitute 1/2 cup of wheat germ in place of some of the oatmeal, for a different flavor.

Steps:
- Mix sugars, butter and Crisco together. Add eggs. Mix in soda, salt and flour. Add oats and chocolate chips last.
- Cook at 350 for 8-10 minutes. I always eyeball the cookies and take them out when they're just turning golden but still seem a little jiggly so they stay soft once they've hardened.
