Steps:

  • Mix the wine, O.J. and ginger ale.
  • Slice orange and throw inches.
  • Serve on ice, garnish with sliced fruit.
  • Note: I keep frozen berries (raspberries and strawberries) in the freezer, and often throw some of those in too!
  • Enjoy!

1 (750 ml) bottle red wine (I use a cheap red)
2 cups orange juice
1 (12 ounce) can diet ginger ale (best to use diet, for it's sweetness)
1 orange (sliced)
sliced orange, limes and lemons to garnish

EASY SANGRIA

I enjoy sangria and this recipe sounded really good. Found on MyRecipes.com and originated from Cooking Lights magazine. Refrigeration time is cooking time.

  • Chop the orange (leaving the peel on) and apple into bite-sized chunks, then add them to the bottom of a pitcher. Sprinkle them with sugar and stir. Let them stand for 20 minutes at room temperature.
  • After 20 minutes, pour in the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and lemon rounds. Stir and refrigerate 1 to 4 hours. (Don’t go beyond 4 hours or the fruit texture starts to degrade.)
  • Pour the sangria into ice filled glasses and top with a splash of sparkling water (if desired). Add fruit to each glass, preferable on long skewers for easy snacking.
