CINNAMON SPICED PEACHES (1 PT)

I came across this recipe in a Weight Watcher's cookbook while looking for a shrimp recipe. It sounded so good I immediately decided that it would be a side dish for tonight! Really fast, easy, and tasty. The kids loved it. For peach nectar I drained a can of peaches in their own juice and used the juice for this recipe. (And then packed the canned peaches for lunches!)

  • Mix all the ingredients in a medium sized pan, stirring well.
  • Put the top on the pan and turn the heat to medium. Let it cook for 10 minutes or until the peaches are tender.

Steps:

  • Drain peaches, reserving juice; set the peaches aside. Pour juice into a saucepan; add brown sugar and lemon and orange juices. Bring to a boil over medium heat; add cinnamon sticks. Reduce heat;, simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Add peach halves; heat through. Discard cinnamon sticks. Serve warm or cold.

  • Open can of peaches.
  • Drain can of peaches.
  • Dump can of peaches into bowl.
  • Dump cinnamon onto peaches.
  • Stir peaches until cinnamon is all over 'em.
  • Eat peaches.
  • Goooood peaches.
  • If you want to look more fancy, put the peaches into individual little dessert bowls and sprinkle the cinnamon over the top like a garnish, or garnish with orange zest. You can also sub Chinese 5 spice powder for the cinnamon.
  • Best served at room temp, but can be made in advance and chilled.

Steps:

  • Rinse the peaches and blot them dry with paper towels. Cut each peach in half and discard the pit. Then, cut each peach into quarters. Using a pointed chopstick or metal skewer, make a starter hole in the center of each peach quarter, working from the pit side to the skin side. Skewer 2 peach quarters on each cinnamon stick, placing a mint leaf between the 2 quarters.
  • Combine the butter, brown sugar, rum, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Let the glaze boil until thick and syrupy, about 5 minutes.
  • Prepare and preheat the grill to high. Brush and oil the grate. Next, place the skewered peaches on the hot grate and grill until nicely browned, 3 to 4 minutes per side, basting with the rum and butter glaze. Spoon any remaining glaze over the grilled peaches and serve at once. Peach or vanilla ice cream makes a great accompaniment.

Peaches And Cream Grilled Cinnamon Rolls Recipe by Tasty image

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill to medium heat (350°F/180°C). Grease a 6-7-inch (16-17 cm) cast iron skillet with canola oil or butter.
  • Open the can of cinnamon rolls and set the icing aside. Arrange the rolls in 2 rows of 4 on a lightly floured surface. Gently press together to seal into one large piece. Flour the top of the cinnamon rolls and use a rolling pin to roll out to a 12 x 8-inch (30x20 cm)rectangle.
  • In a medium bowl, toss the diced peaches with the sugar.
  • Spread the peaches evenly over the cinnamon roll dough. Starting from a long end, roll up the dough, sealing the peaches inside.
  • Cut the dough log into 8 equal pieces and arrange in the prepared pan with the fruit facing up. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • Place the pan on the grill over indirect heat and cook for 30-35 minutes, until the cinnamon rolls are cooked through.
  • Remove the pan from the grill and drizzle the warm cinnamon rolls with the reserved icing.
  • Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
  • Enjoy!

Fried Peaches With Honey, Cinnamon, Pistachio and Breadcrumbs image

Steps:

  • Wash peaches, cut them in halves and remove the stone.
  • Take a dry frying pan heat the hone, add cinnamon and rum and put peaches on it. Fry 8-10 minutes.
  • Peaches will soften, honey will reduce and become like syrup. Turn peaches from time to time to cover them with syrup.
  • In other pan first fry grounded pistachio.
  • Remove it and add olive oil and brown some breadcrumbs. When finish, add some cinnamon.
  • Serve half peach on a plate, pour over some syrup and add some breadcrumbs mixed with pistachio and cinnamon and put it into the stone hole. Put a spoon of sour cream on the side. Serve warm.
