EASY BEEF AND BROCCOLI RECIPE BY TASTY

Here's what you need: flank steak, garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, low sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, beef broth, broccoli floret, cornstarch, water, sesame seed

Easy Beef And Broccoli Recipe by Tasty image

Steps:

  • In an oiled skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak until cooked all the way through. Remove from the pan.
  • Add a little more oil, then add the garlic and ginger to the pan. Sauté until soft.
  • Add the sesame oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, and beef broth. Stir until combined.
  • Add the broccoli florets.
  • In a separate bowl, combine cornstarch and water. Add to broccoli mixture. Bring to a boil, until sauce has thickened.
  • Add the beef back into the mixture, and serve over rice with sesame seeds, if desired.
  • Enjoy!

I love this recipe. There is something about the sauce that you pour on at the very end that just makes this AMAZING!!!! I'm posting this for ZWT 2008! This is a great one for the Asian challenge!

Steps:

  • Put meat in a bowl with 2 Tbs soy sauce and ginger mix well.
  • Heat your wok or frying pan to very hot.
  • Add oil and coat the sides well.
  • Add beef and broccoli and stir-fry until meat changes color (about 2 minutes).
  • Dissolve cornstarch into the beef stock and stir in remaining soy sauce and sesame oil.
  • Add to the beef and broccoli -- stir until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve over rice or noodles.

  • Add broccoli and 1 cup water to a large saute pan or wok. Bring to a boil and cook the broccoli for 2-3 minutes or until it's a bright green color. Immediately transfer the broccoli to a bowl with ice water.
  • Wipe out the pan the broccoli was cooked in and add in 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan. When pan is almost smoking add in beef. Sauté for 1-2 minutes on each side.
