QUICK & EASY MICROWAVE BERRY SAUCE / SYRUP
I used a mixture of fresh blackberries, raspberries and blueberries for this, but I don't see why frozen or any combination of berries wouldn't work. I also used a sugar-free pancake syrup; if you're so inclined, you can use regular maple syrup. I've used this as a topping for pancakes and plain waffles, too.

Steps:
- Combine the syrup and the berries in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 - 45 seconds.
- Remove the bowl from the microwaves and mash the mixture slightly with a fork; it looks a lot prettier if you leave some of the berries whole!

BLUEBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP
This flavored simple syrup is very versatile and goes with so many things. I especially like to put it on top of French toast, in pancake or waffle batter, and it's very yummy in cornbread or biscuit batter. This can be made in advanced and stored and refrigerated in a glass jar.

VERSATILE BERRY SYRUP
We use this on our pancakes and waffles but it could be used for crepes or ice cream too. It's very versatile as we've used blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries all with great success. We don't like our syrup runny either and it has just enough thickness to keep it from running off our plate.
