Rooster Apple Sour image

Steps:

  • Make the apple jam: Peel, core and cube the apples. Combine in a saucepan with the cinnamon sticks and 2 tablespoons sugar; cover and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Uncover and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft, about 20 minutes. Let cool.
  • Meanwhile, make the simple syrup: Combine 1/2 cup each sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool.
  • Make the cocktail: Combine 1 teaspoon of the apple jam, 1/2 ounce simple syrup, the lime juice and whiskey in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a dried apple slice.

2 honeycrisp apples
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
2 ounces rye whiskey, preferably Rittenhouse

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and mix vigorously. Stop when the shaker is too cold to hold. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a sour gummy worm or lemon twist.

Steps:

  • Put all the ingredients, except the cider, into a cocktail shaker and dry shake (no ice).
  • Add ice to the shaker and shake again. Strain into a small wine glass and top with the Breton cider.

Breton cider to top up (about 40-50ml)

I've found that apples and chicken go well together because they both have subtle flavors. I developed this recipe myself. I think it's not only a great-tasting main course, it also looks nice on the table.

Sour Cream Apple Chicken image

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook chicken in oil over medium heat until browned and no longer pink inside, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and keep warm. Add apples, juice, onion, basil and salt to the skillet; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until apples are tender. , Combine sour cream and flour; add to skillet. Stir and cook until sauce is warm (do not boil). Arrange noodles on a serving platter. Top with chicken. Spoon apple sauce over all. Sprinkle with paprika.

Apple Flavored Pot Roast image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Place the roast in a roasting pan or large casserole dish. Fill the dish with about 1/2 inch of water, then stir in the apple juice concentrate. Sprinkle soy sauce over the top of the roast. Make several small slits in the roast and stuff pieces of garlic into them. Season the roast with onion soup mix. Cover with aluminum foil or a lid.
  • Bake for 2 hours in the preheated oven, then remove from the oven and add the carrots and potatoes. Cover again, and continue to cook for an additional 2 hours, or until roast is fork tender.

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Place roast in a shallow roasting pan; rub with garlic halves and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with herbs. Arrange apples, onions and sliced garlic around roast; dot with butter.
