SIMPLE MAPLE SYRUP
After learning that the inexpensive maple syrup you buy in the store is extremely bad for you, I decided I needed to find a way to make my own. After searching through dozens of recipes and some trial and error, this is what I came up with. You can find maple extract in the grocery store near the vanilla extract. One batch of this recipe costs almost nothing.

Steps:
- combine sugars in a medium sized pot and add one cup of water.
- bring to a boil on medium heat stirring constantly.
- let boil for three minutes.
- remove from heat and add 1/2- 1 tsp maple extract (to taste).
- serve warm.

- You eat nothing while on the maple syrup diet.
- Drinking 6 or more servings a day is advised. Drinking more of the lemonade or water is fine too.

- Detoxification.
- Detoxification means eliminating toxins from the body. These can be external poisons, such as arsenic chemicals which cause cancer. Body wastes that if not eliminated, cause illness. A toxin doesn't have to kill you to make you tired, miserable, unhappy, and jittery.
- First the toxins are mobilized from where they are stored in your body, usually fat cells. You may mildly experience the effect of the toxins, such as tiredness. Then the toxins are eliminated. The faster your body eliminates the toxins, the less unpleasant your cleanse will be.
- Take the herbal laxative tea if desired before you go to bed.
- In the morning, mix a quart of water with 2 teaspoons of sea salt and drink it on an empty stomach. This is called a salt water flush, which washes the complete digestive and elimination track.
- Don't drink your lemonade until you use the bathroom. It should take around an hour.
- Stopping The Maple Syrup Diet.
- You may experience nausea or constipation if you return to normal eating habits too soon.
- The most important factor to keep in mind during this stage is to drink a lot of water.
- Days 1 and 2: Drink several 8-ounce glasses of orange juice, sipping slowly, diluting it if there is digestive distress.
- Day 3: Drink orange juice in the morning, eat raw fruit for lunch, and eat fruit or raw salad for dinner.
- Day 4: You may return to your normal diet. Try to keep it healthy.

MAPLE SYRUP
We have been making our own syrup forever and it is soooo easy. We recently had guests for the weekend and had a pancake breakfast. They had never had homemade syrup before so I decided to post it. There are a couple other syrup recipes on here, but none with the same ingredients.

Steps:
- Place sugar and water in small saucepan.
- Bring to boil.
- Boil just for a couple of minutes, so that all sugar is dissolved and syrup is clear.
- Add Mapleine (extract) to taste (as dark as you want it).
- Store in refrigerator, covered.
- This recipe can be adapted to make any amount of syrup- Just always double your sugar to water, ie 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water.

MAPLE SYRUP CANDY
Maple syrup candy is so good, and so easy I was surprised nobody had submitted a recipe for it. This is just a quick one from a store cook book, but it is very good.

- Cook syrup in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches 240 degrees on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool to 200 degrees.
- Stir constantly until syrup becomes sugary.
- Pour into molds (something about the size of a caramel candy).
- When candy is cool, you can remove from molds.
