4 Minute Spicy Garlic Shrimp image

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan, garlic, red pepper flakes and shrimp. Season with grill seasoning or salt and pepper and cook shrimp 3 minutes or until just pink. Toss with lemon zest, juice and chopped parsley. Remove shrimp to a serving platter leaving the garlic cloves in the pan.

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan
4 cloves garlic, crushed away from skin
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
24 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails in tact, ask for easy peels at your fish counter
2 teaspoons grill or steak seasoning blend (recommended: Montreal Seasoning by McCormick) or coarse salt and pepper
1 lemon, zested and juiced
2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves, a handful

Homemade Wasabi Sauce image

Steps:

  • In a food processor, combine the wasabi powder, vinegar, and mustard.
  • Add 1/4 cup of water and with the machine on, slowly pour in the oil to form a lightly thickened sauce.
  • Add the salt and process briefly.
  • The sauce can be refrigerated for up to 1 month.
  • Shake or stir before using.

Soba noodles with wasabi garlic prawns image

Steps:

  • Mix the wasabi, soy sauce and garlic in a small bowl. Bring a large pan of water to the boil and cook the noodles following pack instructions.
  • Meanwhile, heat the butter in a frying pan. Once foaming, stir in the prawns and cook for a few mins until pink. Stir in the wasabi mixture with a couple of spoonfuls of the noodle cooking water and heat through. Add the noodles to the pan with the spring onions, toss together and divide between two plates.

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the soba noodles and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender; 4 minutes. Drain and rinse noodles under cold water. Transfer noodles to a large serving bowl.
  • In a medium bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of the sesame oil with the soy sauce. Add sauce to the noodles and toss.
  • In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil. Add the shallots and ginger cook over medium heat, stirring, until golden brown and crisp, about 3 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the shallot mix to a paper towel lined plate. Add the garlic to the skillet and cook over very low heat until golden; 2 minutes. Transfer the garlic to the same paper towel line plate.
  • In a bowl, combine the lime zest and juice with the remaining oil; stir in the shrimp and season with salt. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook on each side for about 1 minute; just until they're pink.
