Steps:

  • Place an oven rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 24-count mini-muffin pan with paper liners.
  • For the crust: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the crumbs and stir until the mixture forms clumps. For the filling: Heat a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crispy, about 8 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon and drain on paper towels. In a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the cream cheese, pumpkin, maple syrup, egg, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt together until smooth. Mix in the cooked bacon.
  • Using the bottom of a shot glass or a small glass bottle, press 1 teaspoon of crust mixture into the bottom of each muffin cup. Using a small ice-cream scoop, scoop 2 tablespoons of filling batter on top of each crust and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool for 20 minutes and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Steps:

  • Place the bacon in an even layer in a large skillet. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring often with a rubber spatula, until the bacon is light golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine the maple syrup, black pepper and cayenne in a small bowl.
  • Pour off some of the rendered bacon fat, leaving just a small amount. Return the skillet to the heat and pour the maple syrup mixture over the bacon. Braise gently until the syrup thickens and glazes the bacon and the bacon is deep golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve warm.

1 pound slab bacon, cut into 1-by-1/2-inch pieces
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Put the bacon in a container so it lays flat. Pour over the cola to cover. Refrigerate and let soak 2 to 3 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil, place a cooling rack over top and spray with cooking spray.
  • Drain the bacon from the cola, place on the cooling rack and pat dry. Combine the brown sugar, paprika and black pepper in a bowl and toss to combine and loosen up the brown sugar. Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture on both sides of the bacon, pressing and patting so it adheres. Place the slices on the cooling rack; they can be close to one another but shouldn't touch.
  • Bake until the bacon is deeply caramelized but still pliable (it will crisp as it cools), about 20 minutes. Flip the bacon occasionally as it cools to crisp on both sides. Let cool completely.

10 slices bacon
One 12-ounce can cola
Nonstick cooking spray, for the cooling rack
3/4 cup unpacked light brown sugar
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

SPICY MAC 'N' CHEESE BITES RECIPE BY TASTY

Here's what you need: kosher salt, elbow macaroni, unsalted butter, all purpose flour, freshly ground black pepper, whole milk, Frank's RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce, shredded yellow cheddar cheese, shredded low moisture mozzarella cheese, canola oil, large eggs, water, panko bread crumbs, kosher salt, Frank's RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce

Steps:

  • Make the mac 'n' cheese: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
  • Return the pot to medium heat. Add the butter, flour, ½ teaspoon salt, and pepper and cook, whisking, for 2 minutes, or until the butter is melted and the mixture is evenly combined. While whisking constantly, slowly pour in the milk and cook until the sauce starts to thicken, 3-4 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat, add the Frank's RedHot® and cheddar cheese, and stir until the cheese is melted.
  • Pour the sauce into the bowl with the macaroni and stir until the pasta is well-coated. Let cool for about 20 minutes.
  • Assemble the fried mac 'n' cheese: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Once the mac 'n' cheese has cooled, add the mozzarella cheese and stir to combine.
  • Scoop the mac 'n' cheese mixture into 1½-inch bites, rolling into smooth balls, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Freeze for 20 minutes.
  • Heat the canola oil in a heavy deep pot over medium-high heat until the temperature reaches 375°F (190°C).
  • In the meantime, in a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and water until well-combined. Add the panko bread crumbs to a separate shallow bowl. Coat the mac 'n' cheese bites in the egg wash, then cover completely in the bread crumbs.
  • When the oil is hot, add the mac 'n' cheese bites to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown (work in batches to avoid overcrowding the pot). Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and immediately sprinkle with salt.
  • Arrange the bites on a serving platter and drizzle with Frank's RedHot® or serve in a dish alongside for dipping.
  • Enjoy!
  • Note: If you don't have a thermometer, test the temperature of the oil using a wooden chopstick. Dip the tip of the chopstick in the oil. The oil is hot enough to fry when bubbles form around the chopstick.

½ teaspoon kosher salt, plus more for boiling
8 oz elbow macaroni, dried
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
¼ cup all purpose flour
⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 ½ cups whole milk
2 tablespoons Frank's RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce
1 cup shredded yellow cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded low moisture mozzarella cheese
3 cups canola oil
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon water
1 ½ cups panko bread crumbs
kosher salt, to taste
Frank's RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce, for serving

Steps:

  • Sift the flour and a little salt into a bowl. Set a non-stick pan on the heat with 150ml cold water and the chopped butter. Bring to the boil, stirring until the butter melts. Tip in all the flour and, using a wooden spoon, beat hard until the mix becomes smooth and starts to leave the side of the pan.
  • Remove from the heat, beat in the gruyère and half the parmesan and cool for 5 mins. Gradually beat in the eggs until you have a smooth, thick, but spoonable mix - you may not need all the egg. Can be set aside now for 2 hrs without chilling.
  • When ready to serve, heat the oil in a deep-fat frying pan to around 180C. Using 2 teaspoons scoop up neat dollops and carefully drop into the hot oil. Fry 6-8 dollops a time for 3-4 mins until golden and crisp - dunk the dollops under to brown evenly. Reheat the oil as necessary. Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with the rest of the parmesan. Serve hot.
