SLOW-COOKER EASY MULTI-BEAN SOUP

Steps:
- In 5- to 6-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except tomatoes.
- Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
- Stir in tomatoes. Increase heat setting to High; cover and cook about 15 minutes longer or until hot.

CROCK-POT 16 BEAN SOUP
Steps:
- 1) Combine 16 bean soup mix, bay leaves, oregano, chicken stock and water (liquid should cover mixture by 1-2 inches) in crock-pot. Cook on high for 2 hours.
- 2) Add remaining ingredients and shift cooker to low and cook for additional 3 hours. For more zing, add cayenne or crushed red pepper when adding second set of ingredients.
- 3) Serve as complete meal or over rice. Freezes well.

16 BEAN SOUP N THE CROCKPOT BY FREDA
Wintertime or Cold weather Soup. If you love soup your going to enjoy this tasty version. Place it in the crock pot and forget it. You can serve over Rice for a hearty meal. This also freezes well. Soon as I find time to get a pot going will share a photo.

Steps:
- 1. combine 1st 5 ingredients. Liquid should cover Beans by about 1"-2" in your crock pot
- 2. Cook in crock pot on "HIGH" for 2 hrs.
- 3. Add remaining ingredients, "reduce heat to Low", cook for additional 3 hrs or more. (5 hrs total cooking time)Beans should all be tender.
- 4. Optional: For more ZING, add Ceyenne or crushed red pepper, when adding 2nd set of your ingredients.
- 5. Meal Suggestion: (1) For a complete meal, Serve over cooked rice. (2) Serve Soup with Hot Buttered French bread

This was a spur of the moment recipe I made to use the ham bone left from Easter. It's really easy and tastes great on a cold evening!

- Place 15-bean soup mix in a large bowl and cover with several inches of cool water; soak in refrigerator 8 hours to overnight. Drain and rinse.
- Place 15-bean soup mix, ham bone, cooked ham, chicken broth, water, onion, carrots, great Northern beans, garlic, black pepper, salt, and bay leaf in a slow cooker; stir to combine. Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.

- 1. It is up to you how much water you use. Cover the beans completely and fill a 6qt oval crockpot two to three inches from the top. If you want more broth, use more water, if you want it thick and beany, use less.
