BUTTER DIPS
I like these bread sticks because I can whip them up in a hurry if company drops in unexpectedly (which happens often since my husband is a minister!). Most folks are amazed that a recipe this easy can taste so good!

BANANA GHOSTS WITH PEANUT BUTTER DIP
These frozen banana ghosts are a fun Halloween snack that's also super easy. They're great with the sweet and creamy peanut butter dip made extra spooky with a spider web piped from melted chocolate. Feel free to add apple and pear slices as well as graham crackers to round out the platter with more dipping options. The ghosts and dip can be made ahead but the dip will firm up when chilled, so be sure remove it from the fridge about 30 minutes before serving.

Steps:
- Start the ghosts: Line a baking sheet with parchment and make room for it in your freezer. Peel the bananas and cut in half crosswise, then lengthwise for 8 pieces total. Insert 1 stick in the short, flat side of each; arrange on the prepared baking sheet and freeze until solid, about 2 hours.
- Meanwhile, make the dip: Combine the cream cheese and brown sugar in a food processor; process until light and very smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides then add the peanut butter, yogurt and vanilla. Process, scraping down the sides halfway through, until very light and smooth, 1 to 2 minutes more. Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Combine the semisweet chocolate chips and coconut oil in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 50-percent power in 15 second increments, stirring in between, until melted, about 60 seconds total. Transfer to a resealable sandwich bag, twist to close like a pastry bag and snip a small corner. Pipe concentric circles on the surface of the dip. Drag a toothpick through the circles, starting from the center and working your way out, to create a spider web design. Add a few candy spiders, if desired.
- Finish the ghosts: Once the bananas are frozen, combine the white chocolate chips and 2 teaspoons coconut oil in a double boiler or heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water (do not let the bowl touch the water) and melt, stirring until very smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Hold a frozen banana over the bowl and spoon white chocolate over the top, letting the excess drip back into the bowl. Return to the parchment-lined baking sheet and press in 3 chocolate chips, flat-sides up, to make 2 eyes and a mouth. Repeat with the remaining bananas and chocolate chips. Return to the freezer until the white chocolate is hardened, at least 15 minutes, up to 4 hours.

Steps:
- If you do not have buttermilk, you can create a buttermilk substitute with 1 3/4C whole milk and 2Tbsp vinegar. Just pour vinegar into the milk and let sit while you mix the other ingredients. Milk will be slightly chunky. Dump everything in the mix.
- Preheat oven to 450deg.
- Place butter in 8X8 baking dish and put in oven to melt (or butter can be melted in the microwave and poured into baking dish). Remove when butter is melted.
- In medium mixing bowl thougherally combine dry ingredients.
- Add Buttermilk (or buttermilk substitute).
- Mix gently until ingredients are loosely mixed. Lumps are ok. It will look a hot mess, that's fine!
- Pour mix into 8X8 pan, spread to edges of pan. Do not mix with butter, allow the butter to run over the top of the mix. Again, Its fine that it looks like a mess!
- Bake 20-25 minutes or until a knife comes clean out of the biscuits. Cool slightly, cut into squares and serve as desired.

- Position a rack in the center and heat the oven to 450°F. Put the butter in a 9-inch-square baking dish and place in the oven to melt, about 5 minutes.
- While the butter melts, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center, pour in the milk, and stir with a fork only until the dry ingredients are moist. The dough will be soft and sticky.
- Pour the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead about 10 turns, adding no more flour than is needed to keep it from sticking to your hands. Pat into a long, narrow rectangle that’s about 1/2 inch thick. Cut the dough into 12 equal strips with a pizza cutter or sharp knife dipped in flour.
- Remove the dish from the oven. Working with one at a time, transfer the strips to the baking dish and turn to coat in butter. Nest the strips snuggly together in rows.

- Whisk together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Cut 4 tablespoons of the butter into small pieces and work into the flour mixture until mixture is like coarse crumbs. Add the buttermilk and make into a dough. Turn out onto floured surface and roll to 1/2 inch thick.
- Using a 2 inch biscuit cutter you should get about 15 small round biscuits. (If you don't have a 2 inch cutter, you can use a larger one or a glass, a jar top or anything you can finPreheat oven to 425 degrees.
- I make these in an 8 inch iron skillet but you can use whatever you have. Melt the other 4 tablespoons of butter in the skillet in the oven. Remove skillet from oven and dip the biscuits on both sides in the butter. Place in the skillet touching each other. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes until brown on top
