POTLUCK BREAD POT FONDUE

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first three ingredients. Stir in the ham, onions, chilies and Worcestershire sauce; set aside. , Cut top fourth off loaf of bread; carefully hollow out top and bottom, leaving a 1/2-in. shell. Cube removed bread; set aside. Spoon ham mixture into the bottom shell, mounding slightly. Replace top; wrap tightly with a double layer of heavy-duty foil. Bake at 350° for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Stir before serving. Serve with reserved bread cubes, vegetables, crackers or tortilla chips.

Steps:

  • Slice top of loaf, saving the top, and tear out the insides to hollow the loaf, leaving about 1 inch of bread all around the bowl. Mix all ingredients together and pour into loaf. Put top back on and wrap tightly in heavy foil. Bake at 250 degrees for 3 hours. Let set at least 20 minutes, so it won't be too runny. It's best after an hour, still warm but firm. I've taken it to the office and had it at break time (approx 3 hours after it came out of the oven) and it was great. Can be eaten cold as well.

1 loaf round bread, unsliced
3 cans (6.5 oz) minced clams, drain 2 cans & keep the juice of one can
3 packages (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
4 green onions, chopped
3 Tablespoons lemon juice
1/2-3/4 cup parsley, chopped

Cheese Fondue Bread Boat Recipe by Tasty image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Cut off the top of the bread. Use a bread knife to cut around the inside of the bread and scoop the center out.
  • Cut the center and top of the bread into bite-sized cubes.
  • Mix two teaspoons of crushed garlic into the melted butter. Brush the garlic butter on the bottom and the inside walls of the bread boat.
  • Dip all the bread cubes in the remaining garlic butter, set aside.
  • Combine the cream cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, milk, remaining teaspoon of crushed garlic, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  • Pour the cheese mixture into the bread boat.
  • Brush the top of the cheese mixture with egg yolk.
  • Place the bread boat and the bread cubes on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, remove the croutons, and continue baking the bread boat for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and a golden brown crust is formed.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a small 6 by 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Combine the panko, cheese, and parsley in a small bowl.
  • Whisk the cream cheese in a large bowl until completely smooth. Stir in the mayonnaise, milk, shallot, chives, lemon juice, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and hot sauce. Gently fold in the crabmeat until just blended. Spoon the mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle with the panko mixture. Bake on the top rack until the topping is browned and the filling is hot and bubbly, 35 minutes. Serve with celery or other crudites.

Fisherman's Wharf-Style Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl image

Steps:

  • Place salt pork or bacon in a pot and cook 2 minutes over medium heat until crisp.
  • Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  • Add the onion and celery and saute over medium-low heat for 5 minutes or until onions are translucent and celery softens.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir into a paste.
  • Add clam juice, potato and thyme.
  • Increase heat and bring ingredients to a boil.
  • Reduce to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  • Add clams and stir in cream.
  • Continue to simmer for 5 minutes until thick and creamy.
  • Add salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce.
  • Spoon the chowder into the bread bowl and garnish with salt pork or bacon.
  • Serve hot.

  • In a 6-qt. stockpot, cook butter over medium-high heat. Add onions: cook and stir until tender. Add crab; cook 2-3 minutes longer or until heated through.
