- In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 1 year. Use as a substitute for half of a 10-3/4-oz. can of condensed cream of chicken, mushroom or celery soup. , In a microwave-safe bowl, whisk 2/3 cup water and 3 tablespoons soup mix. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2 to 2-1/2 minutes or until thickened and bubbly, whisking occasionally. , For mushroom soup, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup sauteed sliced mushrooms. For celery soup, add 1/8 teaspoon celery salt or one sauteed sliced or chopped celery rib. , Homemade Cream-Style Soup Mix may be used to prepare the following recipes: Grilled Chicken with Cream Sauce and Seafood Thermidor.

Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Cool. Use as a substitute for one 10-3/4-oz.-can condensed cream of chicken, celery or mushroom soup. , For 1-1/2 cups soup: Whisk 1/3 cup mix and 1-1/2 cups water in a small saucepan until smooth. I swiped this from the Food networks low carb and loving it, green bean casserole recipe. Isolating the parts that recreate the Consensed cream of mushroom soup part and fiddled a bit with it.

- Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add onion, mushrooms, salt, garlic, and pepper and cook, stirring, about 2 minutes.
- Add the chicken broth and thyme and cook until almost all the liquid is evaporated, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the sour cream, and toss to combine.

- Using an air tight container combine dry milk, cornstarch, onion flakes, pepper and chicken bouillon.
- If desired also add basil and thyme.
- Mix well.
- When using the mix combine 1/3 cup of the mix with 1 1/4 cups of water in saucepan.
- Cook and stir until thickened.

- In a medium bowl combine all ingredients and mix well with a wire whisk.
- Store in an airtight container.
- To make soup stir together 1/3 cup of the dry mix and 1& 1/4 cup water in a saucepan.
- Cook and stir until thickened.
- You can add 1 can of diced cooked chicken or turkey, frozen broccoli, or dried tomato powder or paste-- whatever you can think of.
- You can boil dried mushrooms in the water called for for a cream of mushroom soup.
- This mixture will make a total of 9 cans of condensed soup.

CONDENSED CREAM OF SOUP SUBSTITUTE
I use this recipe as a substitute for the canned cream of soups in recipes. I almost never keep that stuff on hand, because its full of sodium, and just yucky. The recipe calls for chicken broth. I use chicken broth for the cream of chicken soup substitute. To make a heartier soup, like the cream of mushroom, I use beef broth. Sometimes I like to add in a little shredded chicken, sliced mushrooms, celery, etc. Use your imagination. I've never tried this soup by itself, I only use it in recipes, and its a great substitute!!! The recipe always tastes better than when I use the canned stuff. Enjoy!

- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Stir in flour; keep stirring until smooth and bubbly.
- Remove from heat and add the chicken broth and milk, a little at a time, stirring to keep smooth.
- Return to heat. Bring sauce to a gentle boil; cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
- Taste and add salt and pepper, as needed.
- Use in casseroles in place of condensed cream soups.
- Can be varied by using vegetable broth, sauteéd chopped celery, celery seed, or sauteéd chopped mushrooms.
