QUICK AND EASY SAUTEED SPINACH

Fresh spinach is cooked in olive oil with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese in this recipe.

Quick and Easy Sauteed Spinach image

Steps:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the spinach to the skillet and cover; allow to cook 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic salt and cover again for another 5 minutes; remove from heat. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese to serve.

This is such a quick, easy, nutritious, and inexpensive side dish. I'm not a huge fan of cooked spinach, but this is tasty. From the cheap and easy cookbook.

Garlic Greens (Sauteed Spinach) image

Steps:

  • Heat the olive oil in a 4 quart saucepan and saute the garlic for 2-3 minutes over medium heat until lightly browned.
  • Add the spinach and stir constantly.
  • When the spinach is completely wilted, turn off the heat.
  • Squeeze the lemon wedges over the spinach and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve immediately, these are best hot.

This is so good, and easy. Any greens would do, but spinach is my favourite. My grandmother used escarole and my mother uses swiss chard.

Sauteed Spinach with Garlic image

Steps:

  • Trim and clean the spinach, cut into palm size pieces.
  • In a large pan, cook the garlic and red pepper in the olive oil over medium heat until the garlic is golden.
  • Add the spinach and salt to taste.
  • Stir well.
  • Cover the pot and cook until spinach is tender, just a few minutes.
  • Serve hot or at room temperature.

  • Add the baby spinach to the pan. It will be a big mound, and you can use your hands to pack it in. Use tongs or a spatula to carefully flip the spinach over, so that all of the pieces get covered in oil and garlic.
  • Cover the pan for a minute to let it steam, then stir again. Repeat this process until the spinach is wilted down, about 5 minutes later.
