This recipe is a number one family favorite!!! It's been handed down from generation to generation. You can get creative by adding nuts, raisins or anything else that you want to throw in the batter

Grandma's Homemade Banana Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
  • Combine sugar, butter, bananas, eggs, flour, baking soda, milk, salt and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl; beat well. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.

Grandma's Banana Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Blend this mixture into the egg mixture, alternately with the buttermilk; stir just to combine. Fold in the mashed bananas; mixing just enough to evenly combine. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes our clean, about 60 minutes.

  • Bake 1 hour.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven @ 350. Grease and flour (2) 4x8 loaf pans. Mix the first 5 ingredients together in a large bowl; mix well.
  • Sift together all the dry Ingredients in a separate bowl. Add nuts, if desired.
  • Add all dry ingredients to wet Ingredients; blend only until mixed well. Pour (evenly divided) into both prepared loaf pans.
  • Bake @ 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 2 moist, large loaves or 4 mini loaves. Also about 1 dozen banana muffins.

Better Than Grandma's Banana Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix first six ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Melt butter and set aside to cool.
  • If the bananas aren't overripe, slice and add to butter in a saucepan while it melts and the will soften and be easier to mash.
  • Lightly beat 2 eggs in a medium size bowl and add the yogurt, vanilla, banana and butter and mix.
  • Carefully fold banana mixture into the dry ingredients with a rubber spatula until mixture is combined. do not overmix.
  • Pour mixture into a greased 9x5x3 regular loaf pan or a greased and floured non-stick loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350°F for 55 minutes or until toothpick comes away clean on lower middle oven rack.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before moving to wire rack.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
