MY GRANDMA'S HOMEMADE COFFEE CAKE
This is my grandmas receipe, made totally from scratch. Best right out of the oven but still great warmed up in the microwave. Its very quick and easy to make and it makes your house smell amazing!

Steps:
- 1. Mix together milk, sugar, flour and butter to make cake like batter. Add more flour if needed.
- 2. Pour mixture into greased 13 x 9 pan.
- 3. Sprinkle with dark brown sugar and cinnamon to taste.
- 4. Bake in 375 degree oven 15-20 min.
GRANDMA'S STREUSEL FILLED COFFEE CAKE
This is my grandmother's recipe & this cake never lasts very long whenever I make it! It's a family favorite!

Steps:
- BATTER.
- Sift the flour once before measuring.
- Then sift the flour, baking powder, & sugar together.
- Cut in shortening until mixture is like corn meal.
- Blend in well beaten egg mixed with milk.
- Add the vanilla and beat just enough to mix well.
- Pour half the batter into a well greased & floured pan.
- STREUSEL- Mix dry ingredients together. Rub in butter and add the chopped nuts.
- Sprinkle with half of the streusel mixture.
- Add the remaining batter & sprinkle the remaining streusel over the top.
- Bake 25-30 minutes at 375?.
GRANDMA'S BUTTERMILK COFFEE CAKE
This is the best coffeecake I've ever had! So easy to make and always a hit. Not sure if it is really grandma's recipe or if she got it somewhere.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix flour, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon into a large mixing bowl. Add sugar and oil and mix on medium speed until well blended and feathery.
- Remove 3/4 cup of this mixture and put in a smaller mixing bowl for the topping. Add walnuts and remainder of cinnamon to the contents of the smaller bowl for the topping, mix well and set aside for later.
- To remaining mixture (not the topping) add baking soda, baking powder, egg and buttermilk. Mix until smooth, this is the coffeecake batter.
- Spoon the cake batter into a buttered 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle the topping over the cake batter and press lightly with fingers. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.

- Combine topping ingredients until crumbly. Set aside.
- Combine dry cake ingredients. Add wet cake ingredients. Stir together mixing well.
- Pour cake batter into greased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle topping mixture over top.
- Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees or until cake tests done. Cut and serve. Best warm.

MY GRANDMAS COFFEE CAKE
Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, and sour cream; add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl then add to creamed mixture; beat well. Generously grease a 10-inch tube pan. Make topping by combining chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon. In bottom of the well-greased tube pan put about one-third of topping mixture; alternate layers of batter and topping, ending with batter. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
GRANDMA'S FILLED COFFEE CAKE
Grandma McGlade would make her filled coffee cake for Sunday brunch and holidays.I was eleven the summer after my mother died and Grandma taught me a great deal about taking care of a house and cooking and baking. She gave me all her recipes. Today I make this every holiday and always remember my Grandma McGlade, a strong Irish women with a heart of gold. Now I'm the grandma.I hope you will enjoy this simple coffee cake with your family and friends as much as my family has over the years.

- Cream butter and sugar Add beaten eggs, vanilla Beat until fluffy
- Mix all dry ingredients
- Slowly beat in dry ingredients to butter mixture Alternate with milk Until well mixed Set aside
- Mix all filling ingredients Set aside a least a cup
- In 9×13 greased pan Start with layer of cake mix Alternate with filling until All is gone.
- Cover top of cake with filling you set aside
- Bake @ 350° 35 min or until toothpick comes out clean Golden brown top
- For my family I use lots of filling Raisins or apple slices can be added
- Serve warm or cold Tastes great 2-3 days later, just reheat and enjoy!

This is another of our "southern" favorites. Grandma used to make this, we'd eat it warm with a little butter on top

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Liberally grease a 9x13" rectangular baking dish with cooking spray; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugars, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt and whisk together until incorporated. Pour in the oil and stir to combine until moist crumbs come together. Reserve 2 cups of the crumbs.
- Add in the beaten egg, buttermilk, and vanilla to the original bowl and stir until a thin batter comes together. Do NOT overmix the batter; some lumps are okay. Pour the batter into the prepared pan in an even layer. Sprinkle the top of the batter evenly with the crumbs.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean or with moist crumbs. Cool about 15-20 minutes before cutting into squares to serve, or cool longer if you want prettier squares as this is a very tender cake!
