Holiday Special K Bars Recipes
"SPECIAL" SPECIAL K BARS
This is a "tweeked" Special K bar recipe. I made a few changes to the original recipe I was given, and I think it improved it!

Steps:
- 1. Bring Karo syrup and sugar to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and add the peanut butter until it's melted and smooth.
- 2. Remove from heat and add the peanut butter until it's melted and smooth.
- 3. Stir in Rice Krispies, and mix well. (using rice krispies instead of Special K cereal makes the bars softer & chewier)
- 4. Press mixture into a butter greased pan.
- 5. Melt together chocolate chips and peanut butter chips*, stir until smooth.
- 6. Spread over the top of the cereal mixture and let cool.
- 7. *butterscotch chips can be used in place of peanut butter chips for a variation

- melt together corn syrup and sugar.
- turn off heat and add P-nut butter.
- stir in cereal.
- dump in lightly greased 9x13 in.
- pan, pressing lightly with buttered fingers or wax paper.
- melt together chocolate chips, buttterscotch chips,and butter in microwave until completely melted.
- Spread over bars and allow to cool.

- Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and begin stirring the sugar in. Let it come to a boil and remove from heat and stir 1 cup of creamy peanut butter. Make sure your peanut butter is at room temperature.
- Add 6 cups of original special K cereal into a large bowl. Then pour in the melted peanut butter mixture.
- Now stir everything together using a large spoon. Since the sugars are now beginning to cool down, you will need to work fast before it firms up too much.
