Number Of Ingredients 5
Steps:
- Mix the cocoa powder to a smooth paste with some of the milk.
- Place the rest of the milk on the stove in a pan.
- Bring almost to a boil.
- Add the cocoa paste and the sugar.
- Stir till boiling point is reached.
- Remove from heat.
- Fill glasses up to 1/3rd with chipped ice.
- Strain the cocoa onto this.
- Add a heaped tsp. of whipped cream and serve immediately.
ICED CHOCOLATE SODA
Steps:
- Heat milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla in a small saucepan over medium, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a rapid simmer, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk in chocolate until melted and smooth. Let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer mixture to a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain into a tall, thin glass filled with ice. Top with sparkling water, stir once, and serve.

- Place the hot water, sugar, cocoa and extract in a blender and blend until smooth. Add in the milk and blend to combine. Set aside to cool completely.
- Add the ice to the chocolate mixture. Blend until it is frothy and slush-like, adding more ice if needed.
- Pour a splash of club soda into the bottom of each glass. Fill the glass with the chocolate mixture, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top. Place a small scoop of chocolate gelato on top. Garnish with fresh mint.
