LAYERED SEAFOOD DIP

A friend sent me this recipe! A creamy base is layered with cocktail sauce, veggies, seafood and cheese. It's a total crowd pleaser and will be a hit at any gathering.

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise.
  • In the bottom of an approximately 12 inch round serving dish, spread the cream cheese mixture. Pour cocktail sauce evenly over the mixture. Layer with green bell pepper, green onions and tomato. Top with crabmeat and shrimp. Sprinkle with mozzarella.
  • Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 2 hours before serving.

Steps:

  • Mix softened cream cheese and miracle whip together until smooth.
  • Spread into a deep serving dish (at least 2 inches deep).
  • Mix the drained crabmeat and the cocktail sauce together and then spread over cream cheese layer.
  • Sprinkle chopped green pepper, green onion and tomato over crab layer.
  • Cover vegetable layer with grated cheese, cover and refrigerate.
  • Serve with crackers or tortilla chips for dipping.
  • Can be made 1 day ahead and stored in refrigerator.

1 (250 g) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup Miracle Whip or 1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 (170 g) cans crabmeat or 2 (170 g) cans shrimp

  • In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and 3 tablespoons salsa; spread into an ungreased 9-in. pie plate. Combine cocktail sauce and remaining salsa; spread over cream cheese. , Arrange shrimp evenly over top. Sprinkle with olives. Combine cheeses; sprinkle over top. Add onions. Chill.   • Place cream cheese in a mixing bowl; cream with a fork. Add sour cream and mayonnaise. Whisk with a fork until mixture is well combined and smooth.
  • Spread cream cheese mixture in the bottom of an 8-inch pie plate to create the first layer. Top evenly with cocktail sauce, imitation crab, shrimp, green onion, diced tomato, and mozzarella cheese to create remaining layers. Garnish with small whole shrimp, sliced green onion, and fresh parsley, if desired.
  • Cover and chill for a minimum of 2 hours, or overnight, to allow flavors to meld.
