MONICA'S HE-MAN CHILI

Loaded with ground beef and Polish sausage, red wine, tomatoes, bell pepper, and as spicy as you like it... Made this way, it has a serious bite!

Steps:

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until evenly brown and crisp. Reserve juices in skillet, and set bacon aside. Brown the sausage in the bacon juices. Set aside. Cook the ground beef in the skillet until evenly brown. Set aside. Saute the onion and green pepper in the skillet juices until tender.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, mix the bacon, sausage, beef, onion, green pepper, and jalapeno pepper. Pour in the wine and tomatoes, and season with chili powder. Cook 20 minutes, stirring often. Mix in the beans, and continue to cook and stir 25 minutes.

Tony's He-Man Chili image

Steps:

  • 1. Brown bacon in large Dutch oven. Remove, crumble and set aside. Slice sausage into one-inch pieces and fry in bacon fat until brown. Remove and set aside with bacon. Pour off excess fat and fry ground beef. Drain and set aside with other meats.
  • 2. Pour off excess fat from pot. Saute onion, bell pepper, garlic, and hot pepper over low heat for 2 or 3 minutes. Mash tomatoes. Add tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, Burgundy wine, and meats to onion mixture. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer. Season to taste with creole seasoning and simmer for 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally. Add beans with liquid and heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

6 slices bacon
1 lb hot sausage (Louisiana or Italian)
1 lb lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 louisiana hot green pepper, diced (or jalapeno)
1 teaspoon dry mustard

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

This delicious meaty chili is made with cans of Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce, and a variety of canned beans (for extra added fiber). It's meaty, yet hearty, but not too spicy!

Steps:

  • 1. Spray the inside of a Dutch oven with an olive oil cooking spray.
  • 2. Cook the beef and onion in the Dutch oven over medium-high heat; till the beef is no longer pink, and the onion is tender. Stir and crumble the meat with a fork while cooking.
  • 3. Lower the heat, and add the minced garlic, stir and cook for just 30 seconds.
  • 4. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder, then add the Manwich and tomato sauce, and stir.
  • 5. Cover the Dutch oven; cook and heat the meat and sauce over the lowest simmer you can get for 20 minutes; stirring occasionally.
  • 6. Add the kidney beans and black beans; stir, then cover, and cook/simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the chili is heated through.
  • 7. Ladle the chili into bowls, and garnish each bowl with a bit of the shredded cheese and sour cream.
