MONKEY BREAD FROM SCRATCH
Gooey, caramelized monkey bread that pulls apart effortlessly when you grab a piece! Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Steps:
- Lightly grease a fluted tube pan (such as Bundt®) with vegetable oil.
- Combine warm water, yeast, and 1 teaspoon sugar in a large bowl. Let stand until bubbly and foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in 1 cup flour, warm milk, egg, 3 tablespoons sugar, butter, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix well before adding remaining 2 1/2 cups flour. Mix and knead until dough comes together in a ball. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and punch down gently to deflate. Divide dough into small or medium balls.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Dip each dough ball in melted butter, remove with a fork, and roll in sugar mixture until well coated. Arrange in the prepared pan. Cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth and let rise until almost doubled, about 45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 35 minutes. Invert onto a large plate; cool for 10 minutes before serving.

SLOW-COOKER MONKEY BREAD

- Line a 5-qt. slow cooker with a piece of aluminum foil, letting ends extend up the sides. Grease foil., Combine the sugars, cinnamon and allspice in a large bowl; sprinkle 3 tablespoons sugar mixture in bottom of prepared slow cooker. Add biscuit pieces to bowl; toss to coat. Transfer coated biscuits to slow cooker; sprinkle any remaining sugar mixture over biscuits. , Stir together butter, apple juice and extracts; pour over biscuits. , Cook, covered, on low 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Remove lid and let stand for 10 minutes. Carefully invert onto serving platter. If desired, sprinkle with pecans.

MONKEY BREAD-BREAD MACHINE
I used to make this with Pillsbury rolls, then used my bread machine to make the dough. SO much better!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350. Place 2 tbsp butter, water, sugar, salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, flour and yeast into bread machine. Set to dough cycle. If it's humid, and the dough seems like it's coming out sticky, add a little flour while still early in the dough process.
- When dough is finished, combine 1/2 c white sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Roll dough into small balls, roll into sugar/cinnamon mix and put into greased bundt pan. When done, cover with towel and let rise 1/2 hour.
- After dough rises for about a half hour, put 1/4 c. butter in small pan and melt. Add brown sugar and vanilla, bring just to boil. Pour over bread pieces. Bake at 350 30-35 minutes.
BREAD MACHINE MONKEY PULL APARTS
I love to have the bread maker make my dough. It is foolproof. Shaping and finishing dough is usually not a big chore and the results are wonderful! I am unsure where I got this recipe as it is written in my handwriting but no indication of where it came from.

Steps:
- Add ingredients to your bread maker, according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Process on Dough Cycle.
- Remove dough from machine at end of dough cycle.
- Using glaze ingredients, Grease tube pan with 2 T butter.
- Sprinkle pan with 2 T brown sugar.
- Mix remaining brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Melt remaining 4 T butter.
- Divide dough into 12 pieces.
- Roll in melted butter then into brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Arrange dough in layers.
- Let rise in warm place 30 minutes or until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 350*.
- Bake 25-30 minutes.
- Turn out of pan immediately.

- In bread machine pan, place the first 11 ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting. Check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1-2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed., Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine sauce ingredients; cook and stir until blended. Remove from heat., When dough cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. - Dump all ingredients into the bread machine in the order listed. Select the DOUGH cycle and start.
- Check dough about 15 minutes into the mixing process. It should stick to the side and pull away cleanly. If it is too sticky, add extra flour one tablespoon at a time. If it is too dry, add water or milk one tablespoon at a time until it sticks to the side, then pulls away.
