CRANBERRY APPLE CRISP

Apple cranberry crisp is a wonderful dessert for fall, when both cranberries and apples are in season. The fruits are quite compatible in flavor and color, and they help make any table look festive and inviting. -Martha Sue Stroud, Clarksville, Texas

Cranberry Apple Crisp image

Steps:

  • Combine apples, cranberries, sugar and flour. Pour into a greased 11x7-in. baking dish. In a bowl, mix topping ingredients until crumbly; sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake at 350° for 50-55 minutes or until fruit is tender.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Stir together apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons Bisquick and the cinnamon in medium bowl. Spread in ungreased square baking dish, 8x8x2 inches.
  • Stir together remaining ingredients; sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until topping is brown.

Easy Cranberry and Apple Cake image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Combine the cranberries, apple, brown sugar, orange zest, orange juice, and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the eggs on medium-high speed for 2 minutes. With the mixer on medium, add 1 cup of the granulated sugar, the butter, vanilla, and sour cream and beat just until combined. On low speed, slowly add the flour and salt.
  • Pour the fruit mixture evenly into a 10-inch glass pie plate. Pour the batter over the fruit, covering it completely. Combine the remaining 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle it over the batter. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean and the fruit is bubbling around the edges. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Mr. Mudd's Cranberry Apple Bake image

Steps:

  • Spray or butter a 9x12 pyrex dish.
  • Peel, halve, core and slice or chop apples. (I prefer them chopped). Place in dish.
  • Wash, pick over and drain cranberries. Pour over top of apples.
  • Mix sugar and cornstarch together in small bowl. Add vanilla, butter and preserves. Pour over top of apple/cranberry mix.
  • Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Bake uncovered in preheated 375 oven about 50-60 minutes.
