Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast over sugar water; let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes. Add milk, eggs, granulated sugar, salt, half the zest, and shortening. Slowly add flour, mixing until combined. Knead until shiny and elastic, 3 to 5 minutes. Place in an oiled bowl; cover with plastic. Let rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 1/4 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make filling: In a small bowl, mix remaining zest, 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, and butter. On a well-floured work surface, gently knead dough 3 to 4 times to release air pockets. Roll out dough to an 18-by-14-inch rectangle, dusting with flour as needed. Brush some of the filling over bottom half; fold to enclose. Brush half with filling, and fold again to enclose. Let rest about 5 minutes.
  • Roll out dough again to a 16-by-10-inch rectangle. Brush half with remaining filling, and fold. Cut into small squares (about 2 inches). Place squares in coated muffin tins, with layers facing up. Let rise until almost doubled in bulk, 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Bake until golden, about 15 minutes. Remove from oven; let rest 1 minute in tin, then transfer rolls to a cooling rack.
  • Make a thick icing by whisking together remaining 2 cups confectioners' sugar and the juice. Drizzle over cooled rolls. Serve.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In small microwavable bowl, microwave 1/4 cup of the butter uncovered on High 30 to 50 seconds or until melted. Line bottom of 9x5-inch loaf pan with Reynolds® Parchment Paper. Lightly brush bottom and sides with small amount of the melted butter. In small bowl, mix granulated sugar, cherries and orange peel; set aside. Unroll 1 can of dough on work surface; press to form 16x12-inch rectangle. With pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut crosswise into 4 rows to make 4 (12x4-inch) rectangles. Brush rectangles with some of the remaining melted butter. Working quickly, sprinkle 1 rectangle with 1 rounded tablespoon sugar mixture. Top with another dough rectangle, butter side down. Brush top of rectangle with some of the butter, and sprinkle with 1 rounded tablespoon sugar mixture. Repeat with remaining 2 rectangles. With sharp knife, cut stack crosswise into 5 (4x2 1/2-inch) stacks. Carefully place small stacks, cut side down, in loaf pan. Repeat with remaining can of dough, sugar mixture and melted butter. Brush any remaining butter over top of loaf. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until deep golden brown, covering with Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil, if necessary, to prevent excess browning. Cool 15 minutes in pan on cooling rack. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen bread. Remove from pan to cooling rack set over a sheet of parchment paper or foil. 1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup chopped dried cherries
2 tablespoons grated orange peel (from 2 oranges)

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients; stir until well blended. Scoop mixture onto the center of some wax paper and gather the sides to compact the butter. Fold one side over and form a log, tightening it up. Roll it up to the other side and twist the ends tight. To prevent from opening, fold ends under. Chill until it hardens, about 2 hours.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, add yeast, lukewarm milk and honey. Let it sit for 15 minutes or until foamy.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, add 2 cups flour (reserve ¾ cup on the side), garlic powder and salt; whisk until well combined and set aside.
  • Add unsalted butter, egg and ¼ cup Parmesan cheese to yeast. Using a dough hook, mix the ingredients well. Add flour mixture and process on low speed for 3 minutes. Add 1 tablespoons reserved flour at a time to the bowl, mixing well after each addition, until the dough clings around the hook and pulls away from the sides. Increase speed to 4 and knead for 4 minutes.
  • With oily hands, form dough into a ball by pulling under and transfer to a lightly greased bowl with olive oil. Cover loosely with a clean dish towel and let rise in a warm, draft-free spot (in the oven with temperature off) until doubled in size, about 1 ½ hours.
  • When rising time is up, punch dough and transfer to a lightly floured work surface. Sprinkle flour on dough and form a ball by pulling under. Using a bench scrapper, cut dough ball in half (sprinkle more flour if needed) and cut each half in half. Form ball with each piece. Cut each ball in half and each of them in half again, pulling under and forming a ball - in total, 32 balls is needed for this recipe.
  • Preheat oven to 375ºF and place a small ramekin dish upside down in the center of a lightly greased 12"x1" deep dish pizza pan; set aside.
  • Working with one ball at a time, flatten it out to about 2 ½-inches around and place a piece of mozzarella in the center followed with a small piece of hard garlic butter. Gather the edges together making sure the stuffing mixture is well covered and tightly pinch it closed. Transfer to the prepared pizza pan, leaving a small space in between. Cover and let it proof for 30 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine egg and milk; beat well and set aside.
  • Brush egg wash on dough balls after rising time is up. Transfer to preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, melt garlic butter. Remove from the heat and brush on a generous amount of melted butter and evenly sprinkle on the remaining ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese. Return to oven and bake for 3 minutes or until cheese is somewhat melted.
