- In a large sauce pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add marshmallows and salt. Stir to combine until marshmallows are melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add in cereal. Gently fold to combine until melted marshmallow mixture has been evenly distributed. Stir in peppermint candy. Fold until distributed.
- Transfer 1/3 of cereal mixture to prepared baking pan. Press into an even layer. Sprinkle 1/2 of dark chocolate chunks. Top with another 1/3 of cereal mixture. Press into an even layer. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 of dark chocolate chunks. Finish with remaining 1/3 of cereal mixture. Press into an even layer. Use additional sheet of parchment paper to help ensure mixture is level on top.
