My husband asked me to post this. I grew up eating these, and was shocked to find out so many people had never had one. They are delicious. So try it!

Steps:
- Drain pineapple well.
- Put Miracle Whip on bread.
- Put pineapple slices to cover one slice.
- You have a sandwich. Yum.
GRILLED HAM PINEAPPLE SANDWICH
Steps:
- Butter bread and on one slice add cream cheese. Top with ham and pineapple and grill sandwiches as you would a grilled cheese sandwich.
PINEAPPLE AND CHEESE "SANDWICHES"
Serve something delicious, refreshing and unique: Sandwich a walnut-studded blend of cream cheese and mayo with fresh pineapple slices.

- Mix cream cheese and mayo in small bowl until well blended. Stir in walnuts.
- Spread about 2 Tbsp. of the cream cheese mixture onto each of five of the pineapple slices; top each with second pineapple slice to make sandwich. Cover.
- Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Cut in half to serve. Serve each half on a bed of lettuce, if desired.

This kid-friendly sandwich is yummy and easy to make for lunch and snacks. Sort of in between a grilled cheese and a Monte Cristo.

Steps:
- Spread cream cheese on two slices of bread. Layer 2 slices of ham, 2 tablespoons of pineapple, and one slice of cheese over the cream cheese. Then top each sandwich with one more slice of bread. Cut off crusts.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and sugar. Briefly dip both sides of sandwiches in egg mixture.
- Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches in skillet, and fry on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and cool for 3 minutes before serving.

HAM AND PINEAPPLE SANDWICHES
My mom thinks these might be more '60s than '80s, but they sound '80s to me, so here they are. These open-faced grilled cheese sandwiches are easy to make and sure to get a comment or two from your friends.

Steps:
- Preheat the broiler to high.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet and place under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned. (This can also be done in a toaster.) Place a piece of ham on each piece of bread and top with a pineapple ring and a piece of cheese. Place the pan under the broiler and cook for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and begins to brown. (Watch them carefully because they can go from brown to black quickly.) Remove the pan from the broiler, cut each sandwich diagonally into 4 pieces, and place on a serving platter.
HAM PINEAPPLE SANDWICHES
I found a recipe for Pineapple Sandwiches on white bread that was far too sweet. I put some ham on it, and put it on whole grain bread for a slightly healthier alternative that is not nearly so sweet!

Steps:
- In a saucepan, combine the pineapple and sugar. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool. When cool, stir in the walnuts.
- In a medium bowl, stir cream cheese to soften, then stir in enough milk to make it easy to spread. Blend in the pineapple mixture. This part can be made the day before if you like.
- Spread about 2 tablespoons of the pineapple mixture onto one side of 12 slices of bread. Top each one of these with 5 thin slices of ham. Top with remaining bread slices.

- Take the bread slices and place them on a platter. For this interesting sandwich recipe, you can take either brown or white bread.
