Steps:

  • Cut hard-boiled eggs into quarters lengthwise.
  • Spread thinly sliced boiled ham strips with a thin layer of prepared horseradish and a thicker layer of mayonnaise.
  • Place egg quarter at end of each strip and roll up.
  • Line the roll-ups down the center of a narrow platter.
  • Decorate one side of platter with lettuce leaves and sliced radishes, the other side with tomato and lemon wedges.
  • Sprinkle all with chopped chives.

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a saucepan, and cover completely with cold water. Bring water to a boil for one minute. Cover, remove from heat, and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, and cool. Peel. Score spirals into the white of the eggs, from the tops to the bottoms, using a sharp knife.
  • In a small saucepan, heat oil. Add garlic, and cook over medium heat until it begins to brown. Stir in sugar and soy sauce. Remove pan from heat.
  • Place eggs in sauce, and turn to coat. When eggs are nice and dark, and the sauce is thick and syrupy, remove from sauce. Serve.

  • In a medium microwave safe bowl, mix cream cheese and Cheddar cheese. Microwave on high heat approximately 45 seconds, stirring frequently until melted and smooth.
  • Lay ham slices flat, and spread with cheese mixture. Place one green onion parallel to one edge of each ham slice. Tightly roll the ham slices into thin logs around the green onions.
  • Slice the logs into 1/4 to 1/3 inch wide rings. Arrange rings flat on a large serving platter. Cover and chill until serving.

Polish Baked Ham (Szynka Pieczona) image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Score ham.
  • Place pineapple rings and cherries on ham, fastening with wooden picks and pierce with cloves.
  • Put ham in a baking pan and pour ginger ale over it.
  • Bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours. Baste every 1/2 hour with the juice from the pan. Remove ham from the oven.
  • Make a paste out of the mustard and sugar, using pan liquid to get a spreadable consistency. Spread on ham.
  • Raise temperature to 400 degrees and bake for 15 more minutes, until browned.
