Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl combine the frankfurters, pork and beans, butter beans, chili beans, onion, sugar, oregano and vinegar. Mix all together and pour mixture into a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour, or until cooked through and bubbly.

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large skillet, cook and crumble beef with bacon and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink; drain., Stir in sugars, ketchup, barbecue sauce, molasses, mustard, chili powder and salt until blended. Stir in beans. Transfer to a greased 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Bake, covered, until beans reach desired thickness, about 1 hour. , Freeze option: Freeze cooled bean mixture in freezer containers. This is my summer time dish for all BBQ's and I always double the recipe. If you enjoy baked beans you have to try this one. It's from a '98 TOH and whenever I make it someone always asks for the recipe. I have personally never made it in the oven since the crock pot does just fine and who wants to heat up the house in the summer? When using the crock pot I will take the lid off for the last hour or so (+/-) of cooking - this will thicken it up if you like your beans thick right at serving. Leftovers freeze very well.

Steps:

  • Brown bacon. Set aside to drain on paper towels.
  • Chop bacon once it has cooled.
  • Crumble and brown the sausage in bacon grease. When brown, use slotted spoon to remove from pan and drain sausage on paper towels.
  • Drain pan of grease, leaving 1 Tablespoon of fat.
  • Add onion to the pan and cook until slightly brown and soft.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook bacon in heavy large ovenproof pot over medium heat until crisp. Using tongs, transfer to paper towels to drain. Crumble bacon and reserve. Add onion to drippings in pot and sauté until almost tender, about 5 minutes. Add dry mustard and thyme and stir 1 minute. Mix in ketchup, vinegar, molasses, 1/3 cup water, bay leaf and all beans. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover pot and bake bean mixture 45 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding more water if mixture seems dry. Mix bacon into beans. Bake 15 minutes longer. Discard bay leaf. Mix in hot pepper sauce and serve.

  • Cook onion and hamburger on high in a large frying pan until pinkness disappears.
  • Stir in flour, salt, basil, oregano and pepper. Cook until thickened.
  • Stir in the baked bean, the green beans, garbanzo beans, mustard and catsup.
  • Turn into a 2-quart casserole.
  • Add bacon to frying pan and cook until crisp. Drain well and crumble over meat and beans in casserole.

  • Preheat an oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over low heat. Cook and stir until the onion has softened and turned translucent, 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, place the bacon in a large, deep skillet, and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain the bacon slices on a paper towel-lined plate.
